@Dashrender I know. I'm on a home account. Ok, I think I just answered my own question. They will block requests being sent on those ports to your IP but if you are the one requesting they don't block them. pounds forehead

RE: SOHO Router Equipment
@Dashrender How do they differentiate between a normal person's traffic v. someone hosting a server? Just volume?

RE: Tired of winter?
@Dashrender Got to just above freezing today. Maybe 35 tops?

RE: Here Is How Much I Love VIPRE for AV
Has Symantec even moved to offering a cloud solution or is SEP still all local only? I known Verizon uses SEP and Cisco systems for phone. I guess they just like wasting money...

RE: Here Is How Much I Love VIPRE for AV
@Dashrender Blackberry? o.0 What's BB? And yes, Webroot has some seriously impressive features. And as far as what you said, yes. No AV > SEP. I'd rather have to play clean-up with no AV than clean up with AV and the fix or rebuild when my employer got smart and replaced it with something else (not saying my current employer).
Had a server a couple months back that someone removed SEP from and it broke the network stack and eventually crashed the server. And that about sums up the quality of SEP.

RE: SOHO Router Equipment
@Dashrender I'm not aware of any port blocking on my WAN connection. I've never had any issues with it at least.

@Dashrender They seem to be emerging as an industry leader. They were crap a few years ago. As in someone would go SEP willingly over them but they rebuilt from the ground up and have been seriously impressing.

RE: SOHO Router Equipment
@Dashrender Double your speed and you still haven't touched mine.
The up is handy for transfers to my NAS in NY which is on the same thing (75/35 FiOS).As far as servers, I could. I have ways to get around the dynamic IP issue. But at the moment, I don't.

RE: Unitrends and Office365
@scottalanmiller I'm aware. I've had it insisted to me that it works but a lot of installers are saying it doesn't. I'm pretty sure it doesn't but will try a couple more things to confirm before I go back and confirm it still doesn't.

@Dashrender We are very much opposites in that way. Ask @fiyafly and I anytime about our music collections. He uses Google Music. I host all mine locally or use Pandora. Either way, I hate it being too quiet MOST of the time and need music on. It's a part of who I am. I can probably sing hundreds of songs from memory with music and a good number even without. If I know a song, I usually know it within the first three notes. Even if I can't think of the name of it immediately, I pretty much know that I know it off-hand, at least.

RE: Unitrends and Office365
@scottalanmiller And that's what everyone is saying. I'm getting different stories from higher ups though. They say it works with UT's O365 but they are using some sort of weird relay and I'm not sure what it is. Going to have to look into it some more.

RE: Unitrends and Office365
@scottalanmiller I am going to have to look into that. I'm not sure how you'd go about doing that on a UT box...

RE: What are you listening to? What would you recommend?
This was a turning point in my music tastes. It allowed me to transition into metal, hard rock, and helped broaden my horizons musically. Until that point I was very locked into what I had heard with my father and what I was allowed to listen to. This changed all that. I liked this song when it was just barely released. It was added to Guitar Hero several years later. At that point, it got big but much like anyone who likes underground bands, the real fans like it before it was popular.

RE: SOHO Router Equipment
@Dashrender You said you have a 30Mb connection. I have a 75Mb down and 35Mb up connection. I've pulled probably 85-90 for short times before. That's down and not up. LOL

What are you listening to? What would you recommend?
I find people live or die by music. There has been music throughout history that has impacted a generation, a genre, a person. I'd like to focus on that last one. There have been a few songs that have had significant impact on me personally. As far as the rest, they are just songs I greatly enjoy.
