Yes, but the difference is that this would, if mass produced, probably cost in the range of a small car, not a small house.

RE: Samba Server Configuration in Centos 6.2
I have to keep my opinions of Cisco in check because I work for one of their biggest support partners. There are people on staff here who WROTE protocols Cisco uses. Dual-CCIE level guys and above.

I would do two tone colors on the fin or add some lighting or something. It just looks flat right now.
Any specific ideas?
Three tone would be best, IMO. Add some yellow to the orange near the top. That'll help it stand out.

RE: Hoverbikes? So want one!
@scottalanmiller Yes, but routine maintenance is MUCH higher on planes than cars. My father's company owns more than 20 planes. Trust me, I know this stuff.

RE: Samba Server Configuration in Centos 6.2
@Lakshmana, the point is that if the data is there, the data is there. Proving you can access it over a network vs accessing it locally proves nothing in terms of the reliability of the data. If it's all good from a local connection, sharing it so a Windows system can access it makes it sound like your Engineer 1. doesn't know Linux, and doesn't want to admit it and 2. is too lazy to walk to wherever the physical machine is and sit down in front of it, so he wants to make you run around setting up shares so he doesn't have to leave his desk.
@scottalanmiller is right. You need to find a job you can actually learn something from.

I can pick up a commuter plane for $130K. Runs on car and is barely larger than my car. Good gas mileage too.

What's technically allowed versus what your ISP actually cares about is totally different. In my opinion, if the ISP doesn't care, even if it's outside the official TOS, why should I?
So, your moral compass is completely dependent upon what someone else thinks? If you're with a group of people breaking the law, you're okay with it because they are? If you visit a country where having sex with kids is allowed, you're okay with it because they are?
Your decisions are yours. You know you are breaking the TOS here. You know you are breaking the MS license talked about before. Just because you haven't been caught and probably won't be caught changes nothing. Your moral compass is broken. Admit it and move on, breaking whatever rules you feel you can get away with breaking.
And, while doing that, go on and wonder why your IT career seems to keep falling apart each and every time you seem to get a decent job.
No it is not. I take what others think and feel into consideration, combine it with my own views, and proceed accordingly.
I am also a big picture thinker. In the large scheme of things, does using a key in the cloud instead of locally when it's legitimate locally, but technically not in the cloud going to hurt anyone? No. Did anyone die, lose a job, go without food, or suffer some other harm? No. I don't even think of this in the same way as I do speeding on the highway. When you speed, there is a higher risk you could lose control and hurt someone, or worse, kill someone. You could harm yourself or wreck your car and then have no ride to get to work, etc. Still, most people do that every day.
In the grand scheme of things, it's small potatoes. You say my moral compass is broken. I just choose what things I'm going to choose to exert energy caring about, because I don't have the energy to spare worrying about little, inconsequential stuff anymore.
I see. So, it's all about whether you think it matters or not. The fact that these things do matter, to others, isn't relevant to you because your 'big picture thinking' is more important than the actual written laws.
Good luck with that.
I want a New 500/512GB SSD, Ubquiti Edge Router Lite, and UAP Pro. I guess that's my big picture so stealing it wouldn't really hurt anyone. What's the harm. It's only technically illegal if I get caught. And it fits my big picture.
That's nice. I still don't see it as an apples to apples comparison.
Because something isn't physical? Because you only want to apply laws when it's convenient for you?
I didn't say that. You've been arguing this whole time trying to prove to me you're right. I have not argued that you're right or wrong. I've argued that I cannot see it that way. My mind does not process the data and arrive at your conclusion. It's possible and even likely I'm wrong. But the viewpoint you are trying to get me to adopt just does not compute. So you can keep arguing with me about how you're right or wrong, but that's an irrelevant point.

You know what is really stupid about this whole thing. He is using this server as a domain controller for his apartment. He has only one user on his network. He may be breaking some type of licensing agreement, but I am not sure why. There is really no reason at all to have a DC in your home environment. Microsoft has a ton of free labs where you can work with DCs.
AJ, do the smart thing and just get rid of your home domain. There is no point in having it, and you are really hurting your reputation. If you have to have a domain at home. Use an opensource AD alternative.
I've considered that. I like being able to have an AD to play with as well as use to help when others have issues that need troubleshooting. Also, given both the jobs I currently have, one being pure-Cisco and the other being retail, it keeps me tied to what I like doing. Besides, the whole "domain at home" was just taking the advice of @scottalanmiller. I don't think it was bad advice. However, maybe for me, in my current situation, it's time to move back to a non-domain environment.

@thanksajdotcom I find your apparent lack of caring about your online perspectives incongruous in light of your proposed session at SWA2015. You might want to reconsider some of the things that are now publicly tied to your "brand".
I don't necessarily recommend people mimic how I post or all my actions. My presentation is more about utilizing professional networks to network yourself with vendors and companies. In addition, it talks about other ways to market yourself as a brand. My brand is different from someone else's. I don't claim everything I do is right or the best way. However, a lot of people from a lot of different places know my name. I will soon be published on a very major website in the IT world. While I may get criticized for some of the things I say, I've been very successful for someone my age. I've worked very hard to become so. As much as people may not believe it, I work very hard and very carefully to maintain what I've built.

In this particular case, it would have been good to state that you had already followed the advice from the other thread and were now testing some new things. In theory you should not have to state this, but so often we have to tie threads together to figure out what is going on. Questions are not really "stateless" but we build in context around your goals or whatever. So giving us that context helps a lot.
Avoiding asking technical questions without the full goal of the activity being shared is a key problem in how many people ask questions. Answers are rarely purely technical and with some additional information can be much more useful.
This times 1000.

I have gained a lot of humility over the past two months. I'm still stubborn but I fight for things that are important. Overall, my values and methods line up with the ship's captain, aka the GM. Me being gone for two months might have been the best thing I could have done for that job.

That being said, I do agree that physical tangibility is not a deciding factor in a case of theft.
