Not sure if any one agrees with me, but I use RichCopy (based on Robocopy I believe) and have had no issues with copying even large (75gb) directories.

    • RE: Build WordPress website on a CentOS 6.5 server.

      Joyfano,

Are you trying to host WordPress or just demo it in house?

If demoing in house, you should get xammp, http://www.apachefriends.org/index.html or wammp.

I don't use either. We have our own webserver in a hosting datacenter. I just create a new folder and block access to it and upload WordPress and start our design and mods.

    • RE: Securing WordPress

WordFence is great as mentioned earlier. I also like to use TAC (Theme Authenticity Checker) and Theme-Check. Simply, TAC looks for code that doesn't belong and T-C looks to see if theme is coded to the latest specs.

I also like to check the site with http://securi.net

The hardening info is good to follow. I don't have Administrator or admin as a user and all passwords are mixed upper & lower case, numbers and symbols.

I can't stress the need to update WP, the themes and plugins. If the plugin hasn't been updated in over a year, it might be time to find something new or fork the plugin with your code.

We use WordPress for all of our clients websites. We figured if it is good enough for the NY Times and the Huffington Post, it's good enough for our clients!

    • RE: Windows Server 2012 Start Menu

Aside from the "start button" flag that takes you to the Start Screen (or you can right click for options), W8.1 allowed the start screen to have the same background as the desktop, helping some people ease into W8. Also you can setup the system to automatically bypass the Start Screen and go directly to the desktop like W7.

What I like is that the Start Screen allows you to type anywhere (giant search box if you will) and pulls the results on the right without making you choose files, settings etc to find what you are looking for. Oh and on dual monitors, start screen and desktop displays at the same time.

Now if W8.1 and OneDrive would allow me to have my files in both places instead of choosing I would be happy!

    • RE: What Helpdesk Platforms are IT Service Providers Using

I've been using Zendesk for my clients for a few years. I am on the verge of routing all emails to Zendesk, that's how much I like it.

Would anyone really be upset if IE was not part of Windows? I personally wish it was not the default browser,
