Is glad my wife doesn't troll these pages. My wife is our graphic/web designer and only like tech when it makes their job faster or easier. She does like the bling though!

RE: IE zero-day Fix
What's IE? Just kidding. By the way if users don't use IE and wait for normal W8.1.1 updates are they vulnerable still?

RE: New batteries for UPS - Factory or secondary manufacture
LOL...I have 4 UPSs on my desk that need batteries, now I have more choices of where to get the batteries!

RE: New batteries for UPS - Factory or secondary manufacture
So, since everyone pretty much agrees on 3rd party batteries, when is it better to replace the whole unit versus buying new batteries?

RE: New Screenshots Look Amazing
That's funny @RAM. because when I first saw them last night I thought they were pictures too!

RE: Choosing Software Versions (SMBITJournal)
Very interesting reading. I do wish programs of non-OS software would take the time and effort to make sure their software works with the new releases of Windows.

RE: Firefox 29... Is it meant to look like this?
on my W8.1.1 it looks like @alexntg's . I only see the rounded tab on the TAB that is "live"
-
RE: Managed Platforms
@alexntg Oh, gotcha! I had forgotten about that. I never actually used the "staff" part.

Pffft.. I live 25 minutes from the beach and I haven't seen it in years!
You don't like beach?
love the beach, but my wife doesn't and I usually never think of asking anyone else to go
We both like the beach but neither of us likes the warm beaches, we both like cold northern beaches.
LOL...we have cold beaches when we have "winter"!

RE: So Many Beers. So Little Time......

What is a hamburger area?
I do like the new 'chrome' on FF 29.
far right has the 3 horizontal line usually seen in mobile devices for menus. I've seen it referenced as a hamburger

Managed Platforms
I have been demoing Continuum's offering and recently signed up to test GFI. Any reason you peeps like one or the other better? I have been following the GFI Max Crowd on LinkedIn and there are some complaints about the product not quite finished.
Continuum offers a service to test the Windows updates for you, and according to my contact at GFI, they don't have that.
Its been at least 6 months since I used Continuum's platform but I presume they still offer Vipre, Malwarebytes and LMI Pro. I know GFI has some kind of A/V and Teamviewer.

RE: Mobile android use = disappointing
@scottalanmiller is the borg! Anyway...I like the new FF, first thing I noticed it was looking a lot like Chrome at the top which makes me happy. First thing I did was move the search bar to the hamburger area.
