@scottalanmiller I don't think the small scale of ML is going to be an issue for a while. The reality is that everyone who is here, is here for a reason, we have some form of disagreeance with the other site. We are either dedicated, or ignorant to a bigger picture, and the way I see it. Everyone who is here now, is dedicated.

I'm not even sure it's cult, some just seems like pent up rage and jealousy that's festered for a long long time just now coming to a head..@scottalanmiller makes me jealous but I won't hold that against him

@Bill-Kindle I'm not trying to high light any major issues, I'm trying to keep it as vague as possible as there are some people who legitimately try and some of which I consider friends.
I understand your not. I'm just saying that I try really hard to not bring it up any more as I've gotten into some heated disagreements that felt like they turned into "well you can just leave then", which I was shocked by being told that. As Forrest Gump would say, "That's all I have to say about that."
You know, I've always loved that sentence "well you can just leave", its such a straight forward sentence with absolutely no truth behind it, you don't just "leave" out of nowhere, you will have some form of hesitation and you will have some form of resistance.

@IRJ One thing I disagree with you on is the fact you're going to require a staff dedicated to that purpose, or take them away from their regularly scheduled duties, and you'd have to decide whose job is the most worthless you can take them off of it to set up a webinar.

RE: New batteries for UPS - Factory or secondary manufacture
I'd go for the cheaper one personally. I know a bunch of vendors will praise their product as the one the recommend because its the "best", but in many, if not all cases, its really just a jacked up price to earn them more money. Same product, same quality.

There are a few Spicy Peppers that avoid me now because of my participation on here. Anyone else on Mangolassi experience this?
Really?
Yeah, definitely. I dont get messages from them anymore and/or they no longer joke with me.
I thought you disappeared :-P, I was eventually going to PM you but... I started cutting my spiceworks usage back as well.... I'm no longer in the top participants per day, week, or month anymore.
I started to cut back my posting even before Mangolassi. The whole power struggle in SP soured me on the site.
Oh god I know dude don't worry. There was a post @Nic interim in the administration and moderation group that honestly just screwed everything up. @Bill-Kindle stepped down due to it, and I followed shortly after. He asked me to help GA a group and well... I started too but... we were overrode by those "above" us... but yet they were equals. He stepped down, I stayed on for a month or two, and after this recent spat I decided I'm not going to help for free, cut me out. There are hidden people who fight in the admin group that no-one knows about. There are hidden insults in the admin group that no-one knows about. Its a real ego struggle that started kicking me back.

Same applies to anyone else, we can hit up Bad Decisions in the city for Bacon Happy Hour.
Always wanted to try that.
So have I but as we are a bacon culture, I thought why not make that a good option :-D. I mean we got tons of great small diners, and we even have a potbelly (YES POTBELLY!!!) but its the small places that give charm city its charm.

BTW @RAM. , I'm surprised that chat feature lasted as long as it did. Sounds like the platform they chose to use was really weak. The IRC channel is ugly,
From my understanding some peoples hardware seemed to make the servers crash or lock up frequently or something. IRC is straight garbage, it makes AIM look like it was made by people in the future.
Balance between weak, and garbage...

lol dang @alexntg I don't hate the product if that's what you're implying. Mainly my recent boxing match with possible employment has knocked it out of my favor, this grudge isn't going to subside in a day, a week, or even a month.
It wasn't aimed directly at you, just a blanket statement for the encyclopedia of posts prior to mine.
That being said, don't keep grudges. They aren't healthy.
Generally I don't, I've had to conceal a lot of my anger deep down over the years, and I've learned to cope with it, I'm not a petty man who holds a grudge over something I once heard said via a grape vine, nor am I a man who will sacrafice a friend based on ego's. But in some rare, very rare cases, a grudge is acceptable based on circumstances.

since i am involved or at least try to be involved on both sites I want offer up my opinion for what its worth. I joined the SW community when i started my current job, why because we used the software. As i become more involved in the community I started seeing more and more public power struggles.I myself posted in the rant thread a few times about the mods not doing their jobs and letting blatant things fly when those things were not allowed prior to a certain CM's departure. @Bill-Kindle sent me a link to this site after we had a public disagreement (but in the private conversation things were hashed out) I still post on both sites and attempt to help out where I can. ML seems to be more IT Pro based and not for the basic user (which is good). Now still haven't reached the SP level on SW yet and don't really care to, I'm not in it for the points, I'm there to provide help where possible just like here. While I post more there, i am starting to here since most of the people i talk to are now using this instead.
Contrary to (what may be I don't know for sure) popular belief, I'm not a mean guy. Sure I get testy, will mouth off / speak my mind (and get slapped around for doing so) but that's just how I am.
Bill is in fact a human teddy bear.

RE: New Screenshots Look Amazing
Holy crap Scott, that's the new unreal engine? I think due to the realistic looking nature of these images @Joyfano may have thought they were real pictures and not just screen shots.
My only complaint is as it begins to look more and more realistic, they start adding more extreme colors and contrast which removes some realism from it.
Side note, have you seen the PS4 and PC side by side comparisons? I feel like something obvious is wrong between the two, curious of what you think.

RE: BSD vs Linux = Mac vs PC?
@scottalanmiller said:
FreeBSD is an amazing product. Very powerful, very secure and a huge userbase both hobbiest and enterprise. NetApp is BSD. FreeNAS, Netgear ReadyDATA and others are BSD. Mac and iOS are BSD.
Very interesting... I'm not a MAC person so I won't start that fight (its a stupid fight), but I have to say from my experience they do work pretty well in a network situation, the MAC network sharing and screen sharing has always been a phenomenal bit of power that was far more accessible and far more powerful than any other OS I've ever used. That's a shockingly amazing new bit of information. Thanks Alan ;-). (sorry gotta drop it in every once in a while).
So as for network situation, BSD is fantastically powerful depending on the intended goal. I don't know now if I'm interested in a BSD based NAS, or a Samba based NAS for my home... this adds a new check box...
