Possible opportunity for 2 paid interns here in Rome, NY.
Very high chances of being hired on after wards.
I have inside contacts that I can point you to...
Just putting out there.

He definitely held to that belief. He stated in his last post they use a POTS line, and credit card swiper. Don't know what's on that server, but seems like they are paying trustwave for an unneeded service (if I recall)

Used my new Norelco OneBlade this morning. I think it's my new razor.
I have seen those, I wand to try one. I hadn't been able to find any local, nor anyone that had one. Does it work well?
Closest ones to me are in Rochester, and NYC. I'm just wondering how I'm gonna hold it that long. Anyone on here log those two in?

I use and love Comodos Endpoint security. I would love to see how that fairs.

First thing I would have done is turn on the hotspot on my phone and tried to connect the printer to that WiFi.
I hadn't planned on that method exactly... but it's a good quick idea. I had brought a different switch\router along for the ride.

You are the director,
He only said head. Director implies that only managers report to him. SMBs don't have directors.
Thank you SAM,
I have alot to learn about the corporate world and their terminology It isn't something I have lots of time working with. I will learn more about that world more in time.

Did a quick search for the Unbt Unifi Discovery tool and found that there is a Google Chrome Extension. Installed that and found the devices. Sadly though, not able to sign into them So they will need to be hard reset I believe to call home and pick up the config.
So cable monkey it is for today.
Fun times..
While I said I didn't want to be a monkey,.. I won't have to anyway. Those APs are about 500 miles south of me,.. so sadly I'll have to have someone onsite perform the action.
Great for you, not for someone else.
Make sure you instruct them to hold the reset till the led goes out completely (about 30~40secs) I have seen where it looks like there reset but they just powercycled

@MattSpeller I do not authorize you to use my mug shot..
If that it is your mug shot then it is in the public space. Therfore he is free to use it as long as he doesn't use it to cause you harm since it is publicly available.
I just reread if you "reset = powercycled" then the AP should still have the set config from the main controller it was previously connected to. So when accessing the AP use the credentials for the controller.
@gjacobse said in Ubiquiti Access Point Missing:
Working on trying to find six access points onsite without being a ceiling monkey. The controller isn't finding them, and while I have run an IP scan, I don't believe that the UBNT APs respond to ping requests.
Is there any way to make them want to call home? they have been reset (power cycled) already.
In the unifi folder you should find the unifi discovery tool. Use it to scan the network it should find them.
Or
Download fing to a mobile and scan the network, you should be able to scan and ping the AP that way
Or you can use Nmap on a computer.
The APs will respond to a ping.
Once you find them you can SSH in using defaults username: ubnt password: ubnt
Point the AP back to the controller using the inform cmd.
Wow, lots of work.
You are the director, so I assume you have others that are helping and you are in more of a directive role.
If you are deeply involved in all aspects of every project then that is tough. Certainly you can get it done, but not in a reasonable time frame.
I would ask for temporary management help (if your alone) until some of the projects are completed. I'm thinking an experienced project manager. (Scrum, Lean)
Let them take one or two of the projects, they can do the main work, thinking and bring you updates which take less time for you to make decisions on. Then you will have time to focus more on the other projects.
You have "boss #1, boss #2, boss #3 etc..."
Each boss has his own function and reports to someone higher in the ladder, who then makes a desicion. When they needed help that structure was developed. You need the same thing just temporarily.
I wish you the best with this.

I had a similar issue a long time ago but it was between my eeepc and my 802.11N router. Turns out that the eeepc wireless card was a draft version of the 802.11N standard and wouldn't connect if I had the router set to 300Mbps. I had to dial it back to max out at 145Mbps...
OK thank you. I will talk to her, and get a remote session opened. I can finish this from the office.
I wanted to get admin on the router, but since the Isp had that info. It would have added a lot of time, and my stomach wasn't having that. I wanted to see the settings for myself.
Thank you for the different thoughts. I'll keep you all posted.
@Mike-Davis said in HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476nw networking issue.:
Bring another wireless router with you and try that next time. I had a much cheaper HP Photosmart printer that behaved the same way and I don't know what the problem was between the old AP, but I put in a new Ubiquiti and it worked fine ever since.
I had brought one with me, hoping I wouldn't need it. I wanted to test it, she didn't want to. But just the troubleshooting to this point was an hour. Had to wait on hp software it takes forever (you know how fun that can be.)
Plus the customer was talking about other stuff I was trying to stay focused, but she was buying my time so i guses i should listen to her Lol. She also didn't know that I was fighting a stomach ache and I needed to leave soon.
The modem\router was a technicolor. The first I have ever seen deployed in my area.
Thank you guys!

What security type is on the wifi?
Sorry failed to mention that
WPA2 AES
The main panel of the printer doesn't allow me to change the type of security.
The printer wireless setting report shows the correct SSID, and also shows that it is using WPA2 aes\tkip encryption.
I got called out today to resolve a networking issue on an hp color Laserjet pro mfp m476nw.
The customer stated that the twc tech tried to connected it with her but it wouldn't work. She said they spent a couple hrs on it. They tested several SSID's and easier passwords and they also didn't work.
She went on to tell me that she was referred to hp for service. But the system was "out of warrenty"
I told her I could do the work.
Anyways,
She has a win 10pro 64 laptop
I attempted to connect to her wifi with the printer, It said I put in the wrong passphrase. I double checked with her working laptop and it was correct. (I never was able to login to the modem\router)
Anyways I performed a full factory reset to the printer, and I got the same error upon authentication.
I then downloaded the HP software for the printer and performed an install and config using the usb. I configured it using the existing settings and passed them to the printer from the laptop. It failed as well. Side note, I also tried to connect using WPS without sucess.
I didn't try to use a wired connection as time was running out, and she doesn't want a hardwire for the time being. The property is a rental.
My next step is to check and see if it will connect with the ethernet. But after she has talked to the landlord.
Does anyone have any thoughts, or have seen this before?
There are only 3 ip devices. The modem\router, computer, and laptop from my understanding.

What brand was it? And what were the issues?
Ripped the walls out of my office, and reframed it to its new size, off to get wiring!
