I would not recommend Untangle. I have to agree with everyone that is saying to break these things apart. When you mention anti-virus are you talking about something like a gateway antivirus? That is what I am assuming. I have used ipCop as a firewall. I liked it. Basic firewall. Is there a reason why you want UTM verses having these systems on their own?

A friend of mine has an Asustor device running at his house. He has been happy with it. That is all I know about them.

RE: Cockpit: just keeps gettin' better!!
Hopefully, they keep expanding the VM Management capabilities in Cockpit. If they get a fully functional WebUI for KVM into Cockpit, that would be awesome.

My sister got me an SNES classic for my birthday. She lives pretty far away so she just gave it to me yesterday.
Awesome!

RE: Backing up a Synology
We use LTO-7 tapes, moving to LTO-8 later in this year. Of course, we are not authorized for cloud backups yet so with the amount of storage we have and wanting to take them offsite we went with tapes.

European Union orders review of daylight saving time
When Ben Franklin proposed it, it was actually as a joke. https://gizmodo.com/ben-franklins-daylight-saving-time-proposal-was-writte-1456363759
When our country adopted it, it was in 1918 when it was adopted. Which I don't get because electricity was beginning to spread wildly and the need for more daylight wasn't really true. Get rid of it I say.

Has been an easy day at work. I wish family would hurry up and get over this flu bug though. I've done good at dodging the bullet so far!
No one in my house has caught it (which is great) I usually get hit pretty hard once a year with something.
So far so good. Let's hope it stays this way.
Spoonful of sriracha every 3-4 hours will keep that junk at bay. Or alleviate the symptoms if you catch it.
I do two tablespoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and one tablespoon of Lemon Juice freshly squeezed in a glass of water.

I only use switch independent mode. Because it is simpler for people following behind and none of my clients have so much data on the infrastructure that it matters anyway.
This is how I do it as well. For the same reasons.

I love vegetarian dishes, HOWEVER, I love bacon dishes more, along with steak, pork in general too, oh lamb is really yummy as well, wait don't forget seafood that is yummy as well. Actually, goat is really good as well. I do love some fresh Venison, elk, buffalo, alligator, snake, squirrel, rabbit. I didn't care for dog, cat or opossum. I guess vegetarian dishes are okay. -

Have you ever bought Fujitsu? They always seem good by the specs and price.
I had a Fujitsu Lifebook laptop (500 mHz P2)... That little thing was a beast. I'd have no qualms about buying another.
Good to know.

Even more important than Coffee preventing cancer: "According to new research from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, men who drink the caffeine equivalent of two to three cups of coffee per day are less likely to have erectile dysfunction." I admit my source might be a little bias but still you can always find someone that will say the opposite.

Just give it a few months and then some expert (which means that they really don't know anything) will say it cures cancer. See:

Schools close at the drop of a hat anymore. Too afraid of lawsuits.
Not around here.
In our highschool (that @Minion-Queen and I went to) we had a few students die because they didn't close the school when obviously they needed to and there was no safe way to get to school from even right across the street, even on foot... but they still kept not closing them.
I would rather them close at the drop of a hat than not at all when they should. Safety should come first.
I don't really understand why there are physical schools at all, for the most part. The entire idea is antiquated.
Because parents need babysitters so they can work.
Sounds reasonable but school doesn't go long enough for hardly anyone to get to and from a job.
When the kids are younger and need a lot more supervision I see the need of taking them someplace so there would be supervision. When they are older, why not online at home all the time? My oldest stepson never fit into the school model at our local school district. He was not interested in a four-year college after school, so all the school really cared about was his attendance they never tried to help him. Maybe an online option like that would have been ideal. The school district was worried about his attendance because student attendance is tied to how much money they get. He dropped out and passed his GED in two weeks a semester before he would have graduated. He is in enrolled in welding at the local votech school and will be certified by the end of the summer. He will be making good money before most of the students in the district even start their college degrees.
Honestly, in most schools in America, the ways we teach at the core hasn't really changed that much. There is a teacher in a large classroom lecturing. Most technology has just enhanced the lecture. Students go from class to class and take notes. Sure they might type the notes into a laptop or use a tablet but it is still taking notes. They are still doing the same process. I would bet that if you took a student from the 1960's or 1950's and dropped them into a school today, it wouldn't take them more than a month to be fully up on the technology. I even bet they could probably outperform most of today students in Math.
