Today I did the math and the "skydiving danger equivalency" is 416miles by car.
Meaning... you run the same risk of a fatality from doing a proper, licensed, professional skydive experience vs. the risk of driving yourself on a trip (or combined trips) totally 416 miles.
Of course, if you have to drive TO the skydiving location, all the math goes out the windows.
So are you saying that it's thought that for every 416 miles you travel in a car, you die? So if you travel 834 miles, you've died from skydiving twice.
I would have thought, if that's the case, it's an extremely high risk pass time.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

This is just terrifying...
So for people that haven’t been there yet... you may want to reconsider. It cannot be unseen.

Waiting for the new cooker to be delivered and hoping the gas man will arrive at the same time

Oh and on that note it was a expensive weekend, also bought a petrol mower for the garden
How do you mow petrol?

It is interesting to see someone specifically call out a gas mower instead of just saying - I got a mower.
but perhaps in the UK, the push/manual type are super common?
I think there are some electric ones on the market now too.
There are - I've only ever seen them with a power cord though - I wonder if they have battery powered ones now? I'd be surprised if they didn't.
Everything that's been petroleum powered is getting battery options.
Bosch, eGo, Milwaukee, Ryobi etc are really pushing the battery operated gardening tools. Not all are available in the US though... I think you've got a bad case of gas...

anyone know of any print servers that can convert usb printers to ethernet?
I can only find a TP Link model down here. Think I used to use a DLink model but don't seem to make 'em any more.
Odd thing to be looking for.
I gather the computer that the printer is connected to experiences time where it's off.I found this: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/startech-10100mbps-ethernet-to-usb-20-network-lpr-print-server-ab86685
Doesn't seem to be a lot available: https://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=USB+to+ethernet+print+server&spos=3
3/4 of those are the TP-Link one. -

Besides getting used to the new interface here, who hit it with the ugly stick? (I use one of the dark themes, so maybe it's just me.)
Got two call outs this morning, been doing more driving than billable things this morning, yuck.
Been using the default theme for awhile now because the dark themes doesn’t look right to me.
Yeah, there's something not 100% about the theme I'm using (Darkly)... but they are sorted with my Dark Reader browser extension.

while i've got you here, who now makes good office printers? Print runs of 5-20 pages, duplexing, colour, networked.
HP & Canon used to be the bees knees, Kyocera seem reliable, but I'm not a fan, Lexmark are .. Oki, don't really know.
Copier wise, we swapped to Kyocera.
Small office printers I look at HP, and now more recently Kyocera.Don't like Brother, Fuji-Xerox, Ricoh for small office printers. I find that they're either cheap (the bad kind) or just generally craptastic for a work environment.

Not everyone has access to vaccines.
Everywhere I go, they do.
Are they places where people are paid a lot more than the average income?
