I want something that will index a file share. I want this to present a web page with a search box, and display results when I hit search.
SharePoint is supposed to do this, but it doesn't.
What other options are there?

why is the exempt hourly rate more than 2x the salary rate? 455/week salary vs 1k+ a week hourly.

I use the Unitrends virtual appliance, and I am still loving my Unitrends setup. I'm not sure what you mean that XS is an afterthought for Unitrends. They are 1 out of about 3 vendors that support XS. Every problem(2) I have had with it in the last 8 months has been my fault. I am only backing up about 10TB and 40 or so vms though, perhaps your environment is a lot larger.
This is with 1 gbit interface between xs and ueb
It does do dedupe very well. I usually get about 40-60MB/s backup speed on full backups. Agent backups seem to be a bit slower.
With XS and unitrends you have to have your network interfaces setup correctly in XS and the Unitrends appliance, or all sorts of stuff doesn't work well, or at all. You also need to make sure you aren't trying to backup too many vms at once on the same SR, which can lead to tapdisk unpause errors, tapdisk timeouts and other bad things. This seems to be a limitation of XS 6.5, not sure if 7 is better.
My UEB has an interface on Network 0(mgmt. iface) of the XS host. And one other that is on another subnet so I can easily connect to the web server.

You can try disabling WSD on the printer itself, if it isn't a service for Windows to see perhaps it wont try to use it.

WSD is so terrible. It automatically adds a printer to every pc on a network if network discovery is on.
"Hey lets install this printer automatically when you join a network. Doesn't matter if youre an engineer and this printer is for HR, you logged in to the network you get this printer now."
WSD takes control away from you; that's MS' new strategy: Control everything badly, but better than most IT people.
But i suppose you cant really blame them when you see the terribleness of many IT people.

Im a fan of pydio for this. pydio isnt on Windows i dont think, but setting it up is easy.
Using it to share files is even easier. Just upload the file to the share, right click and click Share. It generates an https link which you then just email to the people you want to share it with(outside the office obvs, as smb shares are easier in the office). When you dont want to share it anymore, just right click and unshare it. Now nobody can get it.

Our techsupport people use this to email links for firmware update, user guides, product documentation for our customers. Our inventory people use it to give BOMs to people since those end up being too big for an attachment usually.

I am just trying out nextcloud and it also does this, but is slightly different.

ifconfig is old-hat, apparently. I still in habit of using ifconfig myself.

Is the CA service running when you run that CA url removal command? you might need to fix the CA removal problem before you can demote.

You might want to check your domain admin user rights on some ad containers and see if you have the power.
I think user needs Trusted for Delegation right on that user.

Also, on that failed ca removal, i dont think you need quotes around the url, as it is a url and no spaces are allowed.

Your domain admin credentials might not have full permissions to do that operation, depending on configuration. How long has the domain existed?

Think he means he fixed it by 'throwing hands up' and reinstalling. DOes the reinstall work though?

Ah I forgot you put it in recovery mode. Turning that off might have fixed it, but if youre going to NIFO then that is ok too. Also when doing the reinstall make sure your permissions are right.

Just a bit of browsing I find this. You do actually seem to be out of memory, try adding

performance_schema = off

to the [mysqld] section of my.cnf

I think there should be a bit more lines in that file.
What size files are the recreated innodb files?
What is the contents of /var/log/mariadb/mariadb.log

Ive seen many of these not just jobs/gates; some are very good.

Have you checked to see if these files exist and are correct size? Have you checked the .cnf file
InnoDB: Error: log file ./ib_logfile0 is of different size 0 5242880 bytes
InnoDB: than specified in the .cnf file 0 8388608 bytes!

Check your cnf file to see that it is correct. Rename/move ib_logfile0, ib_logfile1 (they'll get recreated when the service starts again)

Also, someone(s) who worked here from 2010-2015 should have done that way before I started. But they(all of them) didn't do anything, for nearly ten years.

Last week I was moving some things in the server room around after hours. Turned off a Dell SC430(last physical server here) circa 2004-5, moved the things, turned it back on. Just 1 and 2 lit up on the front and blinking. Bad powersupply. Replaced it. Things boots up, blue screens as Windows loads. Keeps doing that. Troubleshooting leads me to think mobo got damaged when powersupply died. I don't really care about fixing it. Luckily I had backups of the share it was still serving. and had transferred other roles to other servers the first 6 months i worked here. Just moved the share to new server and took care of some other things and all was good.
Thing lasted about 12 years in service as Windows Server 2003(not even R2) AD DNS DHCP File/print/http server for 11.5 of those years.

Cant decide if it deserves a place in Server HoF for years of good service or the Server PoS for dying days before retirement.
