In candidates watch out for this one that they may ask: "What PSA do you use?"
We avoid script jockeys at all costs.
What is PSA in this context?

RE: Best tool for p2v in this day and age?
If youre using XenServer or XCPNG you can still use the Xenconvert program for the p2v. I used it just a month or two ago no issues.

RE: Windows Admin Center, who uses it? Your experience
@jaredbusch I set my Manage As username/pw as a domain admin. It lasts for the session. So once a day i have to enter them or more if i close Edge.

My gripe is the number of times you need to put in a username/password. Other than that, I have no complaints of the features so far.
Oh that's likely because youre using Fedora, which doesn't have Edge.
On Win10 with Edge, i never get prompted. edit: Not never, just once a day. -
RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Just got a Dell laptop delivered for new employee. turn it on. There is now an uninterruptable, unskippable Cortana screen on first boot, with sound on by default, that you cant skip and have to listen to or wait for the text to go by before you can choose your keyboard layout.
PS
Chiclet keyboards are terrible! -
Windows Admin Center, who uses it? Your experience
Hello
Ive put windows admin center on two computers here. One a vm I have setup just for sysadmin use. the other on my own workstation. The vm is using its share of 24C E5 Xeons and an 8 spindle chunk of a Raid10. My workstation is an i7 2700k from a while ago and has an ssd.Generally I like what MS is doing here. I really like the remote desktop and powershell abilities.
I am just wondering how you all feel about it. How is the performance of this? The only gripe I have right now is that it takes a lot of spinning dots in a circle time to get the different views of a computer populated. Then more dots as you go through the options.

RE: Online Schools vs Traditional Universities
University still infinitely better than fake degrees from UoP or Trump University, which dont/didnt even offer knowledge or education in their programs.

RE: Online Schools vs Traditional Universities
People who hire may not care about the difference. Likely the person hiring you never learned a thing in university and just a got a piece of paper without gaining any knowledge. As a human being seeking to understand the universe you live in, you should care. Does University of Phoenix and other for profit schools even offer an education for their students? Are they required to take humanities courses or do you just pay 40k for a fake degree without math science history literature?
I just went to University of Phoenix website and they wont even list the courses in their degree programs without filling out a Please Spam Me form. So there you go. -
RE: Discovering FakeRAID in the Real World
Ive used this for desktops before at home, but not with a server.
Sometimes there is an issue with the os seeing these onmobo raid devices as a single device.
For example, if you setup a raid1 through mobo raid, then load a Centos iso and attempt to install to your raid 1 device, you will likely find that the raid1 device isn't seen by the installer, and you will still see two hdd to choose for installation. Another thing you can run into is the raid device will be available during installation showing as a single device, you install to it, reboot, and then get No Operating System found error after POST. -
RE: IDE as a RAID?
IDE is old. AHCI is newer. There are no advantages of IDE, unless youre dealing with some old before 2005 that can only supports IDE.

This is probably the worst piece of legislation in the history of the EU
