Long term we hope to be in TX or TN for now we are stuck in crappy NY weather. Yesterday was amazing till about 4 pm then it dropped 20 degrees in less than a hour. Now it is cold and miserable (but it's not snowing so that's a plus).

RE: How My iPad Killed My MacBook
I will have to be super careful now that I am using multiple tablets and my laptop (which is connected to my desktop via synergy). The temptation to just leave the laptop stationary most of the time will be there now.

RE: Making Changes This Weekend...
Interesting haven't decided if I like it or not yet.

RE: How My iPad Killed My MacBook
I cycle my batteries on everything once a week at least (except for my phone that I end up doing at least twice a day).

RE: What do you use for offsite locations and VPN use?
Our VPN is Pertino! @josh and @scottalanmiller can help answer questions on that one

RE: Weekend Plans
Tonight is nothing! Tomorrow I have a Gluten Free taste testing thing to go to (yes this is good now I can maybe find something that tastes good to eat). Tomorrow night off to see a friends band. Sunday it's off to see @scottalanmiller and @dominica and then off to Connecticut for the evening. Monday to meet with a client then back home.

RE: Windows 8.1 Apps
I found a couple to play with: Microsoft Project Siena- looks like it is an App creator but I have no clue how it works or what I would use it for... something to play with while traveling this week.

RE: Windows 8.1 Apps
I am currently using Evernote (which is pretty awesome with the handwriting notes feature). Skype, CRM, Quick Notes, OneDrive, Windows Journal that is what I am using so far

Windows 8.1 Apps
Since the Windows store is so hard to find things in unless you really know exactly what you are looking for. What have you found in there that is useful?
I found an app for Dynamics CRM very slick and easy to navigate.

RE: Surface Pro2
Favorite thing so far is the easy of having everything synced with my desktop. So I can move to the couch or out on the deck and not miss a beat on Skype, lync, email even web pages I had last open.

RE: Checking your e-mail and other work in the evenings
For me I have to be watching my email from 6am to at least 10pm everyday weekends included and the only reason it's not later than that is because I have a team that works from 10pm till 3 or 4 am everyday and they are watching for me. However I do have rules that I run on the weekends only so I am not getting alerts for anything other than helpdesk emails. We are really lucky these days with our clients that are not open on weekends so unless something really blows up we are able to not be so worried about any stray issues.
