Sounds cool. I nominate @coliver as the system administrator
My lad may become ML's youngest member
@Mike-Ralston admins some already. He built one in the NTG lab last week.
It's currently undergoing some changes, as a server cannot realistically be run with more than a few people without any plugins. I'll get right on working on it more, though!

VMWare Pink Screen of Death
Any help available with this? Not entirely sure what's going on, or how to fix this

RE: Best speakers for School Epson projector
@FiyaFly Yeah, surround sound and audiophiles don't mix well, lol. Too much DSP
@bishnitro What kind of budget were you looking to stay within? Do you want something self-powered, or something that needs an amplifier? How big is the room you're looking to use them in? Are you going to be playing music, movies, or presentations? If you can answer these, we'll have a better idea of how to help you.

Looking for a Career Path
So I'm an intern for Niagara Technology Group, and I'm looking into a full career in IT. Not sure exactly what certifications I want to focus on, or what types of skills I want under my belt, as I don't quite know which field I want to be working in. My idea is to not deal with a lot of customers, but I'm looking for suggestions. Any ideas or opinions from past experiences would be great!

RE: Starting the IT Clock
Well speaking of internships, NTG offers a program for that I've been enrolled in it for almost two years now, and I've learned Networking, a bunch of Linux, an almost complete spectrum of L1 support, PBX configuration, and a whole lot of other extremely useful things. It's a joy to be able to work under the wings of people with years of experience, and be able to learn all kinds of things.

RE: ReadyNAS 312
Setup was incredibly simple and smooth, I'm very happy with it. Had a small issue with it not accepting login information for the WebUI, but a very quick email to NetGear and this was fixed almost immediately. It's now fully configured after about 15 minutes of setup, and is working beautifully. The Toshiba 1TB drives it came with are allowing very snappy file retrieval and uploading to the NAS, and file organization has been very simple.

RE: New Hardware toy!
The particle effects and physics for Half Life 2 are done via CPU. And my mistake, by natively I mean that it isn't getting hardware support from PC streaming or anything. So far as I've seen, PhysX and video encoding are the most taxing CPU processes, and this has been running them without a hitch or hiccup. I know a few people who have 3770K's that choke with PhysX rendering.

Installing OpenSuse 13.1 On A Server Via USB
I'm NTG's Intern, and I've been assigned a project of getting the server lab running some stuff. I've got to get OpenSuse 13.1 on a Linux server, via a USB flash drive, and I was wondering if anyone here knows if I would need to reformat the file from it's standard? And if such is the case, what format would I need to use, and would I need to use third party software to convert it? Any tips, ideas, or constructive criticism would be wonderful, thanks!

RE: What is the best degree for IT?
@Minion-Queen mentioned me earlier in this thread, and I just wanted to pop in and confirm what she had to say; I worked with NTG as an intern for three years, training on PBX Engineering, and the use of several other systems, and I cannot stress enough how valuable interning can be. The day I turned 18, they brought me on board as a full-time employee, and have given me the resources to continue growing in experience and IT related knowledge. I'm able to get senior-level certifications if I work towards them, and I never paid a dime for a college education.
I'd say college isn't entirely necessary for IT, unless, as @scottalanmiller has said, you want to go for any sort of Business Management degree. The people who have gone for that tend to get jobs in this field pretty quick, so far as I've seen in my few years experience.

So this game is free on Steam today, and if you install it now, you get to keep it.

RE: USB as a Main Storage device
@scottalanmiller I toyed around with the config for a few hours (the above guide didn't work for me, a few of the options weren't there), and after trying different combinations of Virtual Drive settings, I now have the Raid 0 Configured, the USB virtual drives figured out if we want to use a single USB as both installation storage media, and I have XenServer installing now. The BIOS update didn't work, but it's all working properly without it. Turns out I had just not seen every setting. I'm not an expert on this stuff

Server Startup
So I'm trying to get an HP DL 185 to run off of a bootable Flash drive, and the server is in perpetual startup phase, around twenty minutes. Anyone have any ideas?
