RE: BitHub (GitHub + BitCoin)
I might've read/explained the documentation wrong. The way I was reading, you setup a GitHub, tie it to a coinbase, and anyone who commits to the repository gets 2% of what's there. The coin-base balance comes from open donations to support the software, and you can commit without accepting the 2%.

@JaredBusch Does your flashlight part still work?
Yes, though I rarely have used it because I use the one from Symantec more often.
Fair enough, I just managed to break mine within an hour.

@MattKing Oh, retail is crazy mark-ups. I used to work in Sales for a company that manages most of the college campus bookstore nation wide. 50-60% markup on textbooks. Making the poor - poorer.
Alright, I have never stolen anything.
Except a few of my college books back in the day.
Sorry mom.

@IRJ I did a very, very short stint at a Radio Shack part time. It was very similar, and I left after they were able to rotate more people in. I got a kick out of being able to see their back-end systems and ERP though. Retail markups are ridiculous.
Computers lose money though. It's the accessories that make money.
Oh totally! I can't remember it's been forever, but there was some sort of system in place for accessories; think it was 3 to 1? You only got a certain percentage of your sales commission on a standalone item if you didn't sell something around 2-3 accessories with it. I.e. phones, tablets, cameras, etc.

Check out the amazing new Ubiquiti phones. Wifi, Android, central controller, Bluetooth....
This is fantastic; we're actually in the process of expanding pretty heavily so I put in a nice wink-wink-nudge-nudge.
On second thought they might just help feed the local Candy-Crush addictions, and offer no more productivity.

I know ServerMonkey will be there in full force, not too sure if i'll make it this year!
Wrong thread. Lol
Pfft... Protip: don't move around windows with your reply open.
Learned that a long time ago. Lol
Lol I've probably learned it a few times by now; I'm a creature of habit.

BitHub (GitHub + BitCoin)
Just stumbled on this on Whisper Systems Github, looking at some android stuff. Really interesting concept. Anyways, people donate to a central pool, then get paid a set percentage of the total pool amount.
I don't see a use for it in any of my projects, but thought it was interesting regardless.

RE: SAP HANA takes the lead on big data

I've been doing a lot of Hadoop work over the years and I know of several other people who work on it too. Including SW, for example. Not just my banking and financial contacts. Hana is making noise but I've not seen it anywhere in the enterprise space yet, though.
That's really interesting, we actually moved over to a derivative of SAP Q1/2012 so I'm a bit of a fanboy of them I think.

RE: New Ransomware - Citroni
That's really interesting! So WebRoot has people that actively seek out new viruses to test?

RE: This is how you fail at marketing to me
Haha checked out the website, they still have a relead script running. (The same Relead that Anonymous targeted, assuming the owner was mining ISP records to give out site-visitor personal information.)
The more you know!

RE: Wordpress Links Breaking Website
@ajstringham said:
So I'm going to put this here so that it might help someone else. I tried changing the Permalinks format on my site from the default "?p=123" to anything else. Anytime I did, I got an error. Doing some research, I found I needed a .htaccess file, which wasn't being generated automatically. So I created it in vi and gave it permissions to be written to. I've tried this before though, and yet any non-default permalinks style breaks my site. I finally found the solution. In this link:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/solved-permalinks-working-in-apache2-ubuntu-1010#post-2421733Now the link has the right setting but that file didn't have what I needed. Using some powers of deduction, I went up a level and modified the apache2.conf file in /etc/apache2. If you go about 80% of the way down, you'll see (not gonna type everything):
<Directory /var/www/>
AllowOverride None
</Directory>Now, there are multiple Directory containers so get the right one. Change None to All. After that, run service apache2 restart. I'm running Ubuntu Server 14.04 as a LAMP server, so, that's what I have to do. Basically, restart apache. After I did that, with my .htacess file in place, everything works! Hope this helps someone else!
Thanks,
A.J.I've honestly left my permalinks alone for the .htaccess reason; I'll have to check it out next time someone requests specific URL's! Thanks @ajstringham
