Get a different machine for the CAD user, he'll be taxing CPU and GPU heavily. Get him Xeon workstation if you can, ideally something that's certified by CAD vendor. You'd be surprised how quickly they are to blame non-certified hardware if there are any issues with their software.

    • RE: Do you know Ralph -Assets Mgmt System ?

I used it years ago, when they released version 0.0x something, it was ok back then, I don't remember why I haven't continued using it though. Perhaps asset auto-discovery wasn't in-depth enough for me. But it was around the time when I first started to play with Spiceworks.

I almost forgot, apache config probably got reset to default. Find your AllowOverride directive in your web root config and make sure it's set to either FileInfo or All. Options directive should also include FollowSymlinks. Restart Apache after making changes in config files.

What does the wordpress admin panel show? Does it display any warnings? Anything on permalinks page?

@wls-itguy restart apache, it should be necessary, but I've seen weirder things.

@wls-itguy ok, rename .htaccess to htaccess-old for example, and rename .htaccess2 to .htaccess and change owner on new .htaccess to www-data:www-data

@wls-itguy can you post output of cat .htaccess2 too? My guess is it got added when upgrading, and while .htaccess looks correct, if you have additional caching plugins, there might be additional rules in .htaccess2.

That's probably your problem. Btw, are you accessing it through terminal, or through some web panel? This file is hidden and won't normally show up.

Apache mod_rewrite could be disabled. Check .htaccess file if rewrite rules are there. Can you access pages with "ugly" query string after main url. ie. /?p=11 ?

Not seeing a .htaccess page and when I type a2enmod rewrite I get module rewrite already enabled.

.htaccess is not a page, it's a file, most likely in your wordpress root folder.

I heard it was because they had Edge locked down, but who knows.

Lmao, poor excuse. I smell bs anyway.

      Yeah, Google Chrome. Or Firexox.

With the Intel NUC does anyone know if Fedora works well there?

I would miss my 4TB 3.5" SATA drive, but I can buy a large 2.5" drive.

@scottalanmiller what about those HP boxes you linked. Any idea how well Fedora supports the hardware?

      Customer-reported operating systems

These operating system versions are reported as compatible by owners of Intel® NUC Boards and Kits. Intel hasn't validated these operating systems. We recommend you use the latest kernel. If you need assistance with Linux on Intel NUC, check your distributor's website and forums for peer assistance.

      Seems to be compatible.

Intel NUC perhaps? There are some models that support 1 M.2 and one 2.5" SATA disk. It's mostly pre-build, you just need to supply your own drives and RAM.
