      Does anyone know off-hand if the script has to run on a new profile, or does it have to be run before a profile logs in to windows 10?

      @JasGot We have no difficulty making changes via the Web Interface - being using Yealink and Sangoma with a couple of years now. I think you missed what I was asking - Thanks a mill anyway . .

      I'm sure I did, that's why I said the question was unclear to me. It became clear when Dashrender posted his comment.

      With FreePBX, he'd have to hit a button called park a call - which would then park it and announce what slot it was on.. then assuming he has more keys, he could label them Parking 70, Parking 71, Parking 72, etc.. and whatever slot was announced by using the park a call key, would light red.

      So that's the same scenario I deal with. The screenshot I posted is showing what you are describing. I don't like it either, but this one is a hosted PBX and we are stuck with it..... 😞

      When I asked them to change it, they said too difficult while supporting both Yealink and Polycom in the same Admin Portal.

      The funny thing is.... because of that answer, we don't use their admin portal for programming anymore. We program them locally.

      The shortfall of this is that we can monitor those slots with BLF but we are pressing the same Key to Park / UnPark. i.e. you can program a Call Park Key and setup a few BLFs to monitor, say, 70, 71, 72 etc. but you are parking with a different key to retrieving.

      This question is unclear to me. But here is where you change those keys:

      Glad I started this thread.

      I should mention, that because it's a regular HTML input box on our internal app, appending all those ignores is automated. We dont have to type it.

      I use duckduckgo also. If it's something I know ML people use or talk about I'll usually run a site:mangolassi.it search terms otherwise I just search it normally on duckduckgo

      You can also do site:mangolassi.it site:serverblah.com site:spicewhatevs.com search terms to search multiple sites at once

      I still don't trust the nodebb searching for whatever reason... probably irrational

      We have an internal app with a search box, in addition to some added site: options we also append this to EVERY search:
      -brothersoft-com -softwarepatch-com -softpedia-com -topshareware-com -freewarefiles-com -fanhow.com -tutcity.com
      it cleans up the results pretty well.

      He is in Canada.

      @JaredBusch said in I have $500 spare!:

      @Reid-Cooper said in I have $500 spare!:

      Have you considered starting your own business of some sort, fresh? $500 isn't a lot, but it's a good start on doing something of your own.

      $500 is not enough to legally start a business in most US states. Canada is typically seen as even more expensive.

      I guess it COULD cost more than $500, but it doesn't have to. It costs $50 to file Articles Of Incorporation for an LLC in Michigan and then $25/year to maintain.

      The only restriction for non-U.S. citizens is that you cannot start an S-Corporation in the U.S. However, you can start a C-Corporation or a Limited Liability Company (LLC) in the U.S. without a problem.

      So you can have a U.S. entity and it can be either a Limited Liability Company (LLC) or a C-Corporation. They can also be formed in any state that you wish, including one of the incorporation havens: Delaware, Nevada and Wyoming.

      You can also structure the ownership of your company in any way you want. Both the LLC and the C-Corporation can be owned by you individually, by another U.S. LLC or corporation, or by a foreign company - and even by a combination of these options. This gives you a lot of flexibility.

      You will need a visa to be "employed" by your U.S. company and receive a salary in the U.S., but nothing should stop you from working for your company for free (as an employee) and just collecting the profits at the end of the year (as a Member (LLC) or a shareholder (C-Corporation)). Naturally you (and in the case of C-corporation, also your company) would have to pay taxes in the U.S. To pay taxes, the company will have to obtain a Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN), which is a very simple process, and you would have to get an Individual Taxpayer ID number (an ITIN).

      You will also need a "Resident Agent" with a physical address in the state of your incorporation. This can be a friend, relative, or even a company whose sole business is acting as "Resident Agents" for companies that need them.

      As for the startup costs, they can vary. As I said, in Michigan, it's $50 to get started, $25/yr to stay in good standing. You can pay any one of a hundred on-line companies to do the filing for you, they range from $0.00 to several hundred. The most popular companies charge between $25 and $50 on top of the $50 fee from the State.

      I can provide you with links to several resources at the State of Michigan (www.michigan.gov) if you choose to try this in Michigan. It's not hard...or costly.

      Remember, the prices I have stated above are the only required startup costs. You can choose to spend as much as you want to get yourself up and running.

      @Dashrender said in Script to Clean up Windows 10 Start Menu:

      Why are you trying to clean these things up after you deployed the machines? that's to late to worry about it.

      In this case, they are Windows 10 in place upgrades from Windows 7. The users have been using them for years.

      In other cases, we have just taken over the IT and didn't have the luxury of deploying image based computing.

      And most importantly, our average customer is 25-250 employees and we do not have the luxury of dictating the policies when it comes to how and where people put their stuff.

      I have to weigh the pros and cons before I decide to make a new profile something we do for the in place upgrades. There are many config and personalization items that would have to be rebuilt. Not to mention the whole printer addiction people have. I suppose I could extract local and remote printers from their registry and import those too. That is another round of testing; for another day.

      Looks like you need to step out of the home user shell and pony up the resources to properly manage Win10 for a business.
      Or you are stuck doing it manually. There are a lot of tools that work super well that you have dismissed simply because you want to do it in a way it's not designed.
      We got it cleaned up and working well in the SMB I was at before because we did it the way it was designed to work and be managed.
