it is blue Sir, all 4 are blue
On the Cisco Switch? Where the cables plug in? Not the other side (assuming there are lights on the other side).
yeah i'm talking about the NAS LEDs not the switch LEDs,
the switch LEDs are green -
RE: LAN speedposted in IT Discussion
@Dashrender it is a RAID 10, array of 4 HD, 3TB each
this is what makes me disappointed because i'm supposed to get better performance, i mean the RAID10 include RAID 0 which increase the speed of R/W, but unfortunately i didn't obtain even the normal speed -
RE: LAN speedposted in IT Discussion
for the server i can see 1Gbs , but for the NAS i do not know where i can see the actual speed of the NIC, all i can see is a dashboard like this :

And just to confirm, the NAS is connected to the network, and not the USB, correct?
off course, NAS has NIC (1Gb/s) and it is connected to my switch

LAN speedposted in IT Discussion
Hi everybody
i bought one NAS WD my cloud EX4 12 TB, i have a core cisco switch (1 Gb/s) and when i copy paste from my server (having NIC 1 Gb/s) to my NAS (having 1GB/s) i get a low speed of max 5.5 MB/s
i cannot understand why i get such speed 5.5 MB/s ~ 44 Mb/s while i have 1Gb/s infrastructure
??thank you guy for any information

pay attention to kaspersky, very very bad tech supportposted in IT Discussion
the image will explain everything, nobody answer the client ticket, it looks like there is no technical support at all

RE: Cannot Control My Desktop from Center Kasperskyposted in IT Discussion
is this feeling is wrong???
because whenever i'm doing something on the cloud i start have concern on security -
RE: Cannot Control My Desktop from Center Kasperskyposted in IT Discussion
you feel safe when you are doing something locally without going outside your coreprate network
-
RE: Cannot Control My Desktop from Center Kasperskyposted in IT Discussion
the natural is using a LAN application not a web application
i mean doing the whole management locally without going outside the web -
RE: Cannot Control My Desktop from Center Kasperskyposted in IT Discussion
aside from that, even the idea to manage something private like workstations using the cloud is not a good idea
-
RE: Cannot Control My Desktop from Center Kasperskyposted in IT Discussion
actually i didn't use KSOS 4 for a long time to explore its new feature, i'm ok now with KSOS 3
but i wonder why they make the remote management as a web console, ??? it is a bad idea, let us suppose i lose internet connection in this case i cannot manage my workstations

RE: Cannot Control My Desktop from Center Kasperskyposted in IT Discussion
i found the solution

the solution is to downgrade to KSOS 3
what a bad software :(, old version are better than the new ones -

Things like don't let it be imaged are just general data base rules that apply to any database. AD uses a database, so database rules apply.
do you mean that all server that has DB on it, it is not recommended to P2V it ??
i'm confused, because almost all server has DB like DC and SQL, oracle ...... -

Even if you have no more licensing, spin up a new VM running Server 2008 R2, activate with your existing key.
do you mean i have to retrieve my current physical key and use the same key in my new VM (because windows server 2008 R2 entreprise edition include 1 Physical and 2 VM) ??

There are only two reasons to P2V a DC.
- You have another workload on the box like file shares or something.
- See 1.
Even if you have no more licensing, spin up a new VM running Server 2008 R2, activate with your existing key, join it to the domain and then promote it to be a DC. Take the FSMO roles and then demote the old one and remove it.
i think i have that reason to P2V my DC, because this physical server actually play 3 roles :
- Domain conroller
- File Server
- SQL Server
so i think i have a reason to P2V it ??

what are the best practices to do before virtualizing a physical DC ?posted in IT Discussion
Hi everybody...
what are the best practices to do before virtualizing a physical DC (windows server 2008 R2 SP1)
i read this article : http://www.serverwatch.com/server-tutorials/virtualizing-active-directory-domain-controllers-general-best-practices.html
are those recommendations are correct ??
thank you very much

RE: Cannot Control My Desktop from Center Kasperskyposted in IT Discussion
we had 2 year license, and only about 3 months remaining now,
the thing is i want to know whether managing my workstations from a central machine is possible or not before renewing the licenses,
the KSOS 3 was great and it offer this feature, the new version KSOS 4 has a web kaspersky center which is a very bad idea
