If I remember correctly Richcopy is just a Robocopy GUI.
Yeah I think it used to be called Robocopy GUI, but it is now called Richcopy

This is what I have so far. I will actually have more groups once I reboot the PCs tonight and they all update group policy.

You can't do a few PCs at a time unless you create groups for the PCs and only put a few PCs in each group.
If you want to auto deploy the updates you need to change your
Configure Automatic Updates -> 4 auto download and schedule the installThen list the time you want to schedule them.
You'll have to create a different OU for each group if want to have them go at different times (that would be a pretty big pain).
I have already created OUs for each group. I have like 20 different groups. I just have to change the GPO to 4 instead of 3 on all of them.

- Nofiy for the install in the GPO doesnt mean its going to notify me, if I approve it via WSUS, correct? If I dont approve it via WSUS is it still going to bug the user and say updates need to be installed? **Yes, since the PC/Server is "looking" at WSUS and not MS, it will believe WSUS that an update is available when you approve it. And the setting above means that it will download the update from WSUS and then notify you that there are updates that need to be installed. It won't install automatically. **
What about the scheduling option? How does that work?
I just want to approve it from WSUS and have everything donwloaded and then schedule to deploy a few PCs at a time
I am new to WSUS. I built a WSUS Server and created all my Target groups and I want to approve some updates that 80%+ of our PCs already have.
I configured 3 Settings in Group Policy on the client computers. The one that I am concerned about is "Configure Automatic Updates".
Here are my questions:
If approve an update, it will only install on the time, I specified in the GPO, correct?
Nofiy for the install in the GPO doesnt mean its going to notify me, if I approve it via WSUS, correct? If I dont approve it via WSUS is it still going to bug the user and say updates need to be installed?

Wow, Lightning tickets aren't that cheap, and not much further north.
Yeah. The lightning are one of the better followed NHL Teams. The panthers, not so much
SEP is bad... really bad.... Use their support. If they cant help you, ditch the product...
I agree, but not for the same reason.
I think the search is fine, but Not separating IT discussions by category is a problem for two reasons:
Answering Questions
Since IT stuff is not grouped in categories, it makes it difficult for me to find any questions that I can help answer. I am not an expert in everything IT related. I have strengths and weaknesses. Certain topics I can be very helpful, others not so much. So if the title isnt descriptive enough to have Exchange or AD in it. I will probably not even read it. Especially if it has a ton of responses already. I thought the goal was to find and answer unanswered questions. They are very difficult to find when people chit chat on these threads and the threads that are unanswered just get pulled down to the bottom. Once they leave the first two pages what is the likelihood of anyone just randomly clicking on a poorly titled question to answer it? If they were in categories I could browse Exchange or whatever and purposely look for unanswered questions like I do in another community.
Asking Questions or Lurking
Sometimes I like to lurk on a certain topic. Maybe, I am not familiar with it and I like to see how other people's questions are answered. It also helps me better understand that specific topic when I can browse see questions and answers related to just a specific topic.
Its easier to find an answer or similar answer when you can quickly see Topics related to an item. Instead of searching and praying that a keyword is in the topic or is even related to to the topic.
Using the Search feature isn't enough
Search's aren't accurate when you want them to be. I just like to browse forums because search functions on forums generally suck. Maybe Mangolassi has a useful search. I dont know. The fact of the matter is that people have been trained their whole lives that search engines on forums suck. I know there are people like me that dont use the search feature in forums. Remember how many people avoided it on that other forum? Sure we dont someone from Somalia who posts something random once and never comes back, but I think the lack of categories will turn off alot of REAL users.
This never gets old.
Its an old joke that is always relevant. I love that the graphic has the Windows NT logo.
Give me good health at 65 and I am happy. Money cant buy good health.
Yes, This is NHL Hockey not minor league
Trying to seal a deal with a big client? Take them to South Florida for some hockey. The airfare will be more expensive than the tickets..
Its actually a really nice stadium and the Panthers are competitive against most teams they play, they just dont have many fans in the Miami area
I wanted to make sure it created directories, but that is my problem isnt it?
I am moving some directories to a new server using Robocopy. For some reason, my destination files are completely empty. All the file permssions are correct, but all files read 0KB and I cannot open any of them.
robocopy source destination /e /copyall /r:0 /w:0 /create
I would not recommend Used or Refurb gear to my company. I just don't see the value in it. Hardware is so cheap these days.
Most Small to Medium businesses only need a few Servers to host their virtual environment of 50-100 servers.

Most people have said just ROBOCOPY the files from the old file server (in this case, SBS 2003) to the new one (2012 R2 Virtual Machine) and it will keep the permissions intact and echo the different server name...correct?
After you decommission the old server, just create a DNS forwarder. That will forward all requests for the Old Server name to the New Server Name
CNAME (alias) he means.
yeah exactly. Its been a long day
There is a quick and easy way to test the ISO file in Windows 8.
Double click the iso and try to mount it. It should mount on a new virtual DVD Drive. If it give you an error about the file being corrupt, try to re-download
