Ugly
Btw, my neighbor is selling a handmade Ravens Tiki for only $60. It looks like something that you would pay $500-600 for.

RE: Time to plug the band....
Thanks for keeping Rock alive. It is definitely dying off in my area. We are down to ONE rock station in Orlando

RE: Chopping off their own feet....
SW is still valuable and I dont see myself going away from it completely.
My only complaint about Mangolassi is the lack of questions, which of course stems from a lack of users.

RE: Chopping off their own feet....
People post pictures of their fish with everything completely blurred out except them and the fish. What is the point of even posting a picture. I can understand not wanting to give your spots away but grow up

that's okay. seems to be the culture in forums. Get to the top (or close) of the mountain, get big britches, start upsetting the very folks that carried you to the top...branch off, small new forum with a high density of originals, tech talent, etc. Heck, this is going on in one of my automotive forums as we speak! it's funny the similarities, just the parts/pieces/lingo are different.
Fishing forums are the worst. A bunch of lying secretive bastards haha

I dont think so. The fanboy mentality is kind of built in to the whole geek culture.
Consumer geek tech yes, I don't see it at all in serious IT.
Well at least half of the other website's users arent serious IT

There are a few Spicy Peppers that avoid me now because of my participation on here. Anyone else on Mangolassi experience this?
Yes. Some less. Some much less. Some more. It's clear that many people treat it like a cult and you must drink the Koolaid or else. They forget or don't understand that it is the support forum for a specific vendor and not something magical. The community reactions to a lot if things are very weird. Very fanboy over there.
There are some that are very cult-like and I think we know who those people are.

@RAM. Thanks for the mentioning me, buddy.
I post on that other website less for a few reasons:
Quality over Quantity. The people over here are top problem solvers for the other website.
The other site is now run by vendors. Every thing they do is sponsored by a vendor. To me that means that there is an obvious motive for every event. No vendor is going to pay for sponsoring an event and receive nothing in return.
The power struggle a few months ago showed that money was the number one concern of the other website now. You can see they are just hiring like crazy. You cant hire the best people anymore when you are constantly hiring. From my understanding, Everyone that was employed with them in the past was highly technical. If you have observed some of the new employees, you will know that is no longer the case. They are just like the sales people that haunt us on a daily basis.
Loss of vision and backbone. They definitely lost their original vision. They are no longer good guys that sell ads just to pay for development of their helpdesk software. There is money being passed around like crazy. When you have so much money from different places coming in, you dont want to offend anyone. That is why you are starting to see less and less heated discussions.

RE: Kiting someone along after an interview
There are a ton of IT jobs in my area right now. I live an hour directly east of Orlando. The odd part is that there are no jobs in Orlando, but plenty here.

RE: Weekend Plans
I live too close to the beach sometimes. Especially during the Spring Break Season

Where is everyone going in FL? I can let you know some of the good the less known beaches
Sanibel Island
I would check out Venice beach (which is just north of Sanibel). It is one of the few places you can find shark teeth by combing the beach. They tell you that the shark teeth that are washed up are ancient, but I can tell you that I have never seen more sharks there than I have anywhere else. I remember being a teenager and fishing on the beach one morning with my dad. We would always go out just before sunrise. We started catching sharks left and right as soon as we got there. As the sun started to rise, We saw sharks everywhere. They were so hungry that they were swimming on the beach and flopping back in when the wave came back. I have never seen anything like it before or ever again in my life.
Sharky's is a cool place to bring the family the food there is pretty good (Captain Eddie's is better). Its on a long pier so you get a nice view of the water and the beaches. I recommend Captain Eddie's if you really like seafood. I love that place.
