@Grey Ooh nice! I imagine if they are worn out then it will really affect sound quality.

Sort of? Mostly they're just firmer against my head so they're blocking more noise. The ear cup replacement was just the foam/leatherette part, so no electronics.

Working at office today but listening to Yakuza soundtrack on my new BeyerDynamic bluetooth headphones. They sound so good

I replaced the ear cups on my Plantronics 8200 UC headset and it's like having a whole new pair.

I actually thought this year was going to be the year of the optometrist.

Year of the optometrist: free glasses for everyone! :glasses:
Year of the optimist: the glasses are half full. 😄
      Year of the pessimist: 2020

@nadnerB I sent the "catastrophe" picture to my wife and she said that was most useful thing I've ever done. Not sure how to take that lol.

Wow. Do you have children with this woman? Did you set up the Wi-Fi? Have you taken the trash out?

I feel like the bar for success is pretty low in your household.

According to leaks ARK is going to be a future freebie on the Epic Store.

That's not surprising, but there are 2 season passes. I'd wager that you'll still need to buy those to play 100% of the game.

Chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine or a placebo will be given to more than 40,000 healthcare workers from Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.

All the participants are staff who are in contact with Covid-19 patients.

That's not going to go well.

Going LANless has a ton of advantages

I have tried to introduce a lot of things and my boss essentially told me to stop because nothing will ever be implemented. Then on my review one of the questions was what new technology I have brought into my company.

You reply with “solution X” but it was rejected by “person Y”

Yeah, and then bring up that "this was forbidden" and ask how they expect you to violate policy as part of your review and ask HR to have a look at how they are evaluating you based on your being insubordinate.

Just to add to this; if they expect you to this and your manager or environment is against it, you can document the dates/persons involved/recommendation and present that list during the next review.

I am getting pretty adept at skipping to the end of the intro though using the +10 button in Hulu.

An anime opening sequence is 1:30 always. So that part is easy. The recaps being random is rough.

MHA is also annoying because they sometimes have actual content before the opening and sometimes after the credits, but before the preview. And sometimes the pre-opening content is just recap.

Fire up your editor and fix it. Put the entire season in to one movie.

      One of my kids' favourites.

I watched a bunch of those but caught up to where there were no more. I'll have to find out if I can get caught up.

It would be awesome if there was a superedit that removed all the credits, recaps and BS thats's a relic from OTA watching.

It is not a relic from OTA. It is intentional to produce less new animation but still fill a time slot.

I had surmised that might be part of it, too. In any case, I'm going to catch up and then get S04 once it's completed.

More than half of elderly Covid-19 victims in Sweden have died in care homes.

Sweden, with 10m inhabitants, has kept more of society open than is the case in most of Europe.

I had wondered how Sweden's approach to handling Covid-19 was working since they took a different approach compared to the rest of the world. Their death rate (based on the numbers the BBC reports in that article) is about 0.04%.

Most of the deaths were nursing home deaths due to bad handling in just that single aspect. It's no way reflective of "how the whole thing was handled".

I'm not criticizing any aspect of the deaths or how they've handled anything. I don't know enough. I've been more curious how their approach to handling things was going to work compared to the rest of the world's "Let's shut everything down" plan. Their infection rate appears to be rather low based on what is listed here: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries.

~30,000 cases out of 10,000,000 people is pretty low based on what experts were telling us would happen.

What's really needed is a number of completed tests to get a more accurate picture. You can't report on cases if you don't test, and misattributing deaths is not only easy, but happening on purpose.

I awoke at 630a yesterday and instead of going back to sleep, I put my esxi system in to maintenance mode, added a 7tb raid10 (4x4tb drives) and upgraded from v6.0 to v6.7u3. After bringing everything back up, I created a 6tb datastore for Nethserver to use and then I spent an hour on how that wants to use mounted file systems vs shares, which I resolved. Then, by 10am, I began moving data from on of my plex libraries to the new datastore and left the house. New docking station for my WFH setup. Home, installed it, but now I need a gov't IT admin from the workstation division to put in a password for driver installs. 😕

A good day, but I have 2 docks on my desk now and too many cables everywhere. Data moves didn't finish until almost 7pm. Plex is happy, though.
