600ms isn't untenable. Can't do phone calls but with some proper setup you can get a lot of things working decently well.

The currently available ones are still rather slow. 600-800ms, which is better than the original 3000+. The ones with good latency aren't available yet

Yeah, it is pretty bad right now...he has me coming back tomorrow to see if I can make it any better.

I've asked him to give it a week or so before writing it off...at least 3 weeks so I can still go to Austin...

I'd love to see the Spazmatics again at the party but sounds like it may be country / western music. But I could be wrong...

When I go back out there, I'll make these changes...right now, the struggle is getting the port forwarding correct for the Milestone cameras...I matched what was on the previous modem/router and it doesn't seem to be working as the mobile Milestone app isn't working still due to the port forwarding.

Are you certain that it is the port forwarding causing the issue? Maybe it is something else.

I got it fixed...needed a little more DNS info in the router...it is all working now...

All iPhones have been announced...seems like they have matched the Note Series and Pixel Phones on some abilities on the Camera...and they have simplified the naming convention: .iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro MAX. They will continue to sell the XR and iPhone8 in the coming year.

Interesting - they are keeping the iPhone 8.... is that because it's the last phone with a fingerprint reader?

Likely because many people don't / can't spend <1000 for a f***** phone so they need a low end model to sell to the masses.

Or overstock of iPhone 8's and XR's perhaps?

If you had bothered to do the right thing and run the setup wizard, eth0 would be the WAN.

That is also a PoE input.

Eth4 is PoE output/pass through from eth0.

I did follow the wizard and this is the route it took me initially...I'd be more than glad to go back and change it if need be...I'm trying to balance out the demands of the job that now requires me to handle all of work and the CEO's home, SOLO...plus care for my wife who has Leukemia and be able to get my pre-teen daughter to and from appointments and sports...these are the times when I wish I had a second person...don't always need one but the last few weeks, a second person would come in handy for the day to day gremlins...I am looking at SpiceWorld as an escape/vacation here in a few weeks...

I was going to leave Eth0 as it is for the connection back to the main network in the house to keep it the same as the PepWave...and using Eth04 for bringing the internet INTO this router...

If you need it running this afternoon, any d-link or netgear router from best buy will get him online until you can get the product you want for the job.

Luckily, we are still running on the poor Verizon internet and he is at his beach house this weekend, so no rush for today but I did want to try to get it going. Will work on a solution now...
