    • So I really need to test HALizard

So I really need a way to test HALizard, and become comfortable with the setup of it for my Xenserver setup (in the future) as it appears we are likely going to be going forward with my proposal (which is awesome) but still has me nervous.

I'm thinking I'm going to tear down my current home lab and test with that. Which kind of sucks, but at least it gives me some experience with it.

If anyone has any pointers, like how to install DRBD on XenServer 6.5 that would be a cool way to help me get started on this.

Here's the list of requirements for HALizard

      Requirements

      • XCP version 1.6 or XenServer version 6.1/6.2/6.5
      • DRBD Version 8.3 or 8.4
      • iSCSI target – TGT
      • Pool HA – Open Source HA-Lizard 1.6.41.4 or newer

I have a feeling I'll likely be the person who has to get everything configured (even though I'm pushing for support) so any guidance would be a godsend.

      Thanks ML.it community.

    • XenServer NFS Storage Repo in the SMB

So from this topic, it is apparent that NFS is a really critical way of setting up your Storage Repos.

With Xen, and Xen Orchestra alike.

But how would you go about build an "unIPODed" NFS file system to run your VM's and XO backup target?

there must be a joke I'm missing.

I'm seriously asking if he stood up a Linux box or did it on Windows?

A radius is the distance from the centre of a circle to the outside, a diameter is the distance from one side to the other, going through the centre, ergo a diameter is basically double the radius...

    • Defective Memory - Primary Xen Server

So my primary xen server has defective ram in it, yesterday the Dom0 of this host was hung, and the plan was to reboot it this morning.

Well didn't get the chance, the host crashed last night.

Good thing I have a tiny box to migrate my VM's over too.

Rather than trying to rebuilt the 3 critical VM's from scratch, import my backup from Sunday.

      Yah I win!!

Third parties confirm AMD’s outstanding Ryzen 3000 numbers

AMD debuted its new Ryzen 3000 desktop CPU line a few weeks ago at E3, and it looked fantastic. For the first time in 20 years, it looked like AMD could go head to head with Intel's desktop CPU line-up across the board. The question: would independent, third-party testing back up AMD's assertions?

    • RE: Child Safety Pool Fencing

I haven't used a fence like that but is it really that much in savings that you wouldn't have a proper fence installed to keep everyone out of the pool that should be near it.

Insurance in NY for example almost demands home owners with a pool to have a fence.

If you don't and someone who "breaks" into your property and drowns, get to sue you.
