It's definitely a nice size, just wondering about the usefulness of something that size to work from. Our iPads are mostly for the kids, and Apple has the best kids apps, as far as we've seen, so it's not a direct competitor to replace our iPad 1st gen, for instance, which I feel is on its last legs due to constant kid abuse.

RE: SAM at the First Party
I'm one of the introverts that had a fun time at the 80s party. Was it too loud? Yup, but I just saw it as a show, I danced my ass off with friends to music I love, and then I gathered as many people as I could and brought them to Touche's for the unofficial after-party.

RE: AetherStore
Cool idea, cool bunch of guys, now that I'm home and have time, I want to learn more about the product. I would say that Aetherstore made one of the best showings at the conference and parties and having the co-founders and developers there to answer questions and explain the concept was an excellent idea.

September is too hot for SpiceWorld. Not thrilled that it's in September again next year.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Checking in here to see if Scott posted "Help me. I'm trapped." on Tuesday night. If he had, we'd all know the true level of his dedication to this site.

RE: Swag, throwback edition
I like the slogan, but the t-shirt design needs some help, lol. They've come a long way. I love this year's shirt.

We are running a bit later than we'd hoped, but we are past Syracuse.

RE: tired
After translating what PSX said into slightly less abrasive language, he's absolutely right. Even if your employer is saying it's fine with them that you were late again, don't think that they are going to forget it. You now have 2 strikes against you in not even 2 weeks of work. Every employer I've ever had would have probably dismissed you on the spot after showing up hours late without calling in for hours after you were supposed to be there, especially your 2nd week on the job. That's a no call - no show. If I were you, I would be kissing as$, doing exactly what I'm told, and not rocking the boat, as well as making sure you're early from now on.

Oh, wow, yeah it would be worth it to have the screen fixed, and my brother in law can do it for like $30, but then I'd have to be without a phone for a while, and that probably isn't worth it. Hmmm. It would be worth $200 if the screen wasn't damaged.

That's my other gripe with iPhones, personally. I like a bigger phone. The iPhone feels tiny to me.
I'm a girl and girl's pants have small back pockets. I refuse to wear a holster, so the phone either has to fit in my back pocket, or get in cozy with the "girls" if I don't have pockets.

I'm sad they increased the screen size. 4 inches is just right for me - I want a phone that I can reach all around the screen with one hand.
This is the only reason I might end up going with a 5s after all. I don't want a huge phone.

For me, it's about the phone working, vs. not working. I and all the members of my family with Android phones had awful luck with them not working, not updating emails, not getting texts, etc.
It was the first sentence that threw me off. I know you're technical. I have no problem contacting support when working with a new product, especially if its available for free.
Like I said, not a matter of support. The phones were sh!t. Support sent new phones, 5 phones in a row, as a matter of fact, each one a piece of crap with something else wrong with it! No thanks. I don't have the time or desire to mess around with an Android, just because it's not an iPhone, and so many "technie's" won't use iPhones just cause they are Apple devices, and "techies" consider themselves "too cool for Apple". I'm way more secure in my geekiness than that.

@Dominica If you are worried about transitioning to Android. You could always get the Amazon Firephone. It isnt the top of the line Andorid phone, but it comes with almost instant support for any question you want. According to most reviewers they received a technician willing to help out in less than 30 seconds. They answer any question you have and can help you find any particular setting you are looking for.
I seriously can't figure out why you're assuming that I couldn't handle using an Android. I never said it was too technical for me, and I'm not sure why you're going that route with your "answers".
I said that the phones I and my close family members owned were total crap that didn't work most of the time. That's not a technical issue, that's a piece of crap hardware. Maybe they are better now, but they were so bad when I gave them a chance, that I'm not willing to give them another shot.

Sure there is a small learning curve on Android phones, but we are technical and it isn't that difficult compared to troubleshooting Windows, Mac OS, or Linux operating systems.
Gee, this was a little condescending. I'm not talking about "small learning curve" problems, I'm talking about at least 10 Android phones from different manufacturers having similar, varied problems with consistently not getting email, internet not working, phone connection suddenly stopping, etc. Not things that us little ole' techie people can fix.
Also, I already said that I'm getting a 6 so that I have more time before it's obsolete. Our first gen iPad is at it's highest iOS and it's annoying that new apps don't work on it. Trying to give myself more time before being a problem on a new phone.

For me, it's about the phone working, vs. not working. I and all the members of my family with Android phones had awful luck with them not working, not updating emails, not getting texts, etc. My iPhone 4s has been through hell, and it still works, I just finally broke it to the point where it doesn't charge while powered on, only while off, which is annoying, but it still works. I'm due for an upgrade, but I'm waiting for a 6 so that I have maximum time for iOS upgrades before it's obsolete.

Apple Announcement Sept. 2014
What we've all been waiting for (okay, maybe just me, cause my phone is broken and I've been waiting for the 6!):
• The 4.7in iPhone 6 with an A8 processor. $199, 16GB, $299 for 64GB, $399 for 128GB with a two-year contract.
• The 5.5in iPhone 6 Plus. Costs $100 more. Both modes out on September 19.
• The Apple Watch: a smartwatch that's not as cool as the mockups floating around for months. It's controlled from a small dial on the side and has sensors for people who like running and what not.
• Apple Pay that allows you to bonk your iPhone 6 against a till to pay for stuff over NFC from your bank card.
