    • RE: Career Assessment: When to Hold, When to Fold

@Carnival-Boy It's definitely a tougher decision when there's no obvious or pressing need to leave a job, just a vague feeling of "Am I getting complacent? Is the grass greener?" A valid consideration here is your family situation - how will a job change affect them, if they exist? Is your perceived job security actual security? In other words, if you stay at that company for another 12 years and they fold, will you be able to get another job, or will you be unable to adapt to a different environment after so long in one place? If you're happy where you are, and other factors don't exist, staying could be the easy right choice.

I think a sign of maturity in the field is realizing that just because someone before you did something a different way, doesn't mean you need to rip and replace an environment to make it exactly to your preference.

I'm glad I saw this post. I've been wondering all day why your neck was at almost-broken angle. Now it all makes sense.

Oh boy. LOL. Where is that tart post when we need it 😉

Alas, I'm probably the only chick on here that would think it was funny to be a called a Mango Tart. Too much butthurt from those without my sense of humor.

@scottalanmiller I 9gag until I fall asleep. For me, it's much more effective than reading.

I like using a real rack. It's classy looking and impressive.

There is a comment in there about @Dominica but I'm going to withhold it.

Why thank you, boys! I am both of those things 😉

Actually their name is Biscotti. He just made up the "s" at the end. I followed the link.

It is the Biscotti Cafe or, translated from Italian, the cookie coffee.

Yes, dear. But AJ abbreviated the name of an establishment using the common method of making one word in the name possessive.

Did you bat your eyelashes at them and ask them if they wanted to party? Wait, that could have elicited the wrong kind of response...lol

Well, first contact was surprise grinding as I danced by them on my way to the ladies. Second contact included eyelash batting and a personal invitation to join us at Touche's. This proved to be a very effective method of getting people to join us, so I'm already working out how to deploy on a larger scale next year.

Are you suggesting that we call ML members "fruit tarts"? Just trying to follow the conversation...

    • RE: Extrovert Stuff

@scottalanmiller What you say is true, except that I danced my a$$ off at the 80s party, and then, like the Pied Piper, I led forth a group to the after party, all the while yelling "The party continues at TOUCHE'S!!" and I'm talking YELLING, yelling. Ask the people that were there. I also may or may not have molested a couple of innocent bystanders, who then joined us at Touche's. So, success!

@ajstringham Then walking or the exercises previously mentioned, are a great choice for you, cause they are free. Oh, and for the socializing problem, how about joining the library, and then seeing if they have a book club or other interest clubs? I know ours has that stuff, it's all free and possibly a good way to meet people. Maybe just retired people, but still - people!

You could walk to Denny's or walk to get froyo.

When we were in training for our backpacking-across-Europe trip, we used to walk for froyo and coffee, because it's easier to do the walking when you have a treat at the end.
