That moderator is over zealous.
I mean look at this:

If they don't have wifi at home and they are not at the office routinely. How do they get updated files during the week? I'm really confused by how they can use these. Am I missing something obvious?

Look at that GREAT advice! Lenovo AND SSD for OS! What decade are we living in?
Umm...the post is from last year.
Yes you could use it like that no problem.
Bit of an open ended question.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
It's built to handle thousands of devices, no problem at all.
Zero Tier is engineered very differently to Pertino, so although you can use them for the same end, there are some core differences.
You just need tosetup a Zero Tier network, either hosted by them or by you, install the endpoints on a test machine and your TS, and you should be able to RDP onto it.
It's very easy to do.

Also asking because I want to find out what the gut reaction is to web guys.
Most of them are people that have no business running a business. Bidding things out for pennies on the dollar.
True...but we could see the same about yeehaw IT or builders.

I'd like to eliminate the VPN & in an ideal world have the overseas connection "on" at specific times
Right, off the top of my head I don't know if this is possible through Zero Tier.
Can you control this via the terminal server itself? Group policy for different user accounts allowed to log on or off depending on time of day?

Some helpdesks have a project/change management module built in for exactly this reason.

This is one example, I quite like the Freshdesk/FreshService as a package.

I think Manage Engine gives you a self hosted version of their software for free which has a change management module.

@Dashrender You can always ask us to get off the list and we honor those requests right away! Warm regards, [email protected]
How do we get the sales calls to stop? After getting screened to voicemail 3 dozen times then being told "we're not interested" doesn't do the trick. Or do I need to individually tell everyone on the entire sales team "we're not interested"?
One of their sales people even found me on social media after her phone calls and emails went unanswered for months..
Does this particular rep have a name that starts with T? This is why I can't let certain vendors anywhere near my clients. They don't want the nonsense.

Why are you using FOG, and not WDT?
WDT is a pain in the butt compared with other solutions.
A typo in the config?
Do you have the text of the config for the 3rd 4th.
Throw it in there, find out where the difference is. Be sure to take out any credentials.

Emailed, they probably would, but around half of them don't even have an internet connection.
Edit: Some of them without internet connections do post things from the library/school.
I was about to say...Fac...Then the edit came.
Maybe I'll have to convert people to the light side. It looks really good.

It's only a few steps removed from telepathy - reading other peoples thoughts. So many people - especially kids - but their unbridled thoughts out there on FB, and then get bent when someone does agree with them.
Facebook...bringing people together.
If it could be used with email addresses, that would work nicely.
