The SysAdmin team I am a part of uses Eaton almost exclusively at the moment. I love how easy the units are to install compared with similar options from other companies! The straps are excellent! lol.

I have two VM hosts currently, but only one has the free space to take this as a P2V. The software on it isn't supported anymore, and can't be upgraded. It's more or less just a read only type situation.
The last time I kicked off a P2V to took 4 days and eventually failed because we had a power outage right at the end.
ROFL.... 98.... 99%....

RE: EATON AMA
Are any of your PDUs capable of being remotely managed? So we can power stuff on / off remotely?

@IRJ Very comparable when it comes to price and functionality. We do offer a 3-year warranty that covers the entire UPS and the battery: http://powerquality.eaton.com/Products-services/Backup-Power-UPS/3S.aspx?cx=3
Typical desktop models:
Eaton 3S: http://powerquality.eaton.com/Products-services/Backup-Power-UPS/3S.aspx?cx=3
Eaton 5S: http://powerquality.eaton.com/Products-services/Backup-Power-UPS/5S.aspx?cx=3The 5S has a nice LCD screen.
We just had a 2.5 hour outage yesterday and I hadn't replaced my desktop UPS yet. I'm ordering this right now (Amazon has it for $200 for the 1500 model.. awesome price!)
What good timing!
Only way it could have been better is if he got it BEFORE th power outage, lol.

RE: Active Directory Domain Trust(s)
It may be worth reporting the end users who continuously ask to have their passwords reset to their respective managers (even if they are employees of the other company).
I say this because if EmployeeA from the other company leaves and they never disable that employee's account, they potentially still have access to your stuff after they are no longer employed. If you have a website that helps them reset their passwords... They should be directed to it... Every. Single. Time. Hold their hands a few times and let THEM do the password reset while you watch over their shoulder or do a screen sharing session.
The end users never learn anything if we juts keep doing it for them.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
I am trying to recuperate from a long day Saturday of cutting down, and hauling trees back home to be turned into firewood... And Chasing the kid all over central Georgia yesterday (found a bouncy house place called Monkey Joe's -- kid had a ton of fun) followed by Pizza for supper.
Today is a holiday in the US for schools and such so now I'm working on making firewood... right after lunch, lol.

RE: WebEx Alternatives
I've been looking for one too... You gotta watch out though... Some of the free ones hide session limits in the fine print. (I think Zoom US limits meetings to 15 minutes).
If you are just doing a presentation, I like http://meet.jit.si
You can create your own URL and screen sharing is dead simple. However, I should mention: You get ZERO remote control capabilities.
Mikogo is another alternative (http://mikogo.com) that is free. Join.me isn't terrible for me. I've used it several times and it's been ok.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@Dashrender I think he's talking about Git functionality. There are third party applications that you can use for Git functionality in Windows (Tortoise Git, as well as the windows Git binaries), but that is not as useful as it could be since the majority of apps are now storing configuration files off in the registry. Git also does not want to work with the User's Documents folder on Windows (it didn't when I tried it!).

ROFL. I feel bad for those of us that really have been in some "IT" field since we heard the word computer. I was programming them before I could spell computer, lol (started when I was 5...)... I actually started making a few bucks working on people's computers when I was aorund 10... So I've been in IT for 26 years (I'm 36 now).
