RE: Windows 10 Hyper-V Impact on Gaming
I have Hyper-V enabled and running a couple of VMs while playing 7 days to die with and it works. And my desktop and some of the components is old.

Controlling Windows via Ansible
There's a new article on Fedora Magazine by James Hogarth about controlling Windows via Ansible.
For those who are interested in managing Windows will find this useful.

For management sake, do we consider 5Nine the "XenCenter" equivalent for Hyper-V?
Yes
No "XOA" style manager AFAIK?
Not yet. Someone will make one, i'm sure.
Never tried it but here's a basic web interface.

RE: South Korean Firm Pays Massive Ransom
Besides not patching, I've seen Windows environments where the firewall is turned off or allowing all incoming traffic.
Home users using a 3rd party paid security software and not keeping up with subscription. Not sure why would anyone use 3rd party when Windows 10 provides a good one that is always available and up to date. That's including Server 2016 too.

RE: South Korean Firm Pays Massive Ransom
The thing I like about Windows 10 is that it does a better job at forcing users or at least home users to update. Unlike Windows XP because we all know back then users hardly pay attention to updates. Heck I still she that happens even with 7 and 8 a lot.

RE: South Korean Firm Pays Massive Ransom
Does anyone know what Linux distro that was a attacked? Besides using certain antivirus, wouldn't apparmor or selinix would of help prevent the attack?

I guess it's time to build a "real" file server...F25 or F26 to the rescue!
Looks that way. If you are mounting to Linux, use NFS instead.
Would you recommend using nfs v3 or v4 or use both when setting up a nfs server?

For a 500gb disk, is there any reason to not accept this setup?
Should /home be on a separate VG?What if we add another 1TB disk, that should be on a separate VG?
If you do keep the default partition and want to use KVM, you will have to store the virtual disks in /home. Or during install, you remove /home and give the rest back to /.
Why? On my desktop I keep my vdisk on a separate drive mounted as
/kvm_store
.It makes sense to resize or choose a larger partition when you don't have another drive available.

RE: Is the computer repair business dead?
Same reason why no one repairs inkjet printers. It's much cheaper and easier to buy a new instead.

RE: Good step by step for setting up a Radius Server and LDAPS
@jrc said in Good step by step for setting up a Radius Server and LDAPS:
Hey guys,
Anyone have a link to a good step by step for setting up a Server 2012 R2 Radius server? The only ones I could find (admittedly this was a few months ago) were for Server 2008 or 2003.
I could also use on on how to setup LDAPs (LDAP over SSL) for Server 2012 R2 as well.
Here's a couple I've found but never tested it myself.

RE: Printing broken by June 2017 updates
@Dashrender said in Printing broken by June 2017 updates:
WTF makes printing so damned hard on Windows? Why is it such a problem child? What is happening in 'nix that makes it so much less problematic?
Next question - how many printers work with 'nix vs Windows? Can I go to BB or Staples and buy any printer on their shelf and make it work with 'nix? I know I can with Windows.
Drivers that are available from Microsoft works great. Its when using drivers from the vendors that causes headaches.
Most of the times using the generic pcl in Linux is all you need. Might have issues with certain copiers that has addition features requiring the exact driver.
