The future is here.... and it looks like shit.

So what's the point of headlights and tail lights if no one is driving it?

Headlights to warn people that the car is coming. That way they don't step out in front of it in the darkness.

And tail lights so pedestrians don't walk into the back of it when it stops?

Oh, and stop pushing your tree-hugger crap on me. A garden in the car? Really? Disgusting. They could have put a cooler or more storage there.

@art_of_shred We lost power due to wind for a short time yesterday. We only had 50mph gusts and had ~30mph sustained for ~an hour. We have been having a few brown outs but I assume that's due to our supplier switching feeds.

We didn't see any fluctuations with our client in Delhi, which we were waiting for. 🙂

We have power here, but there are folks to the north, to the east, and to the west of us without power. The 2 main suppliers are saying 96,000 and 70,000 each, citing customers without power this morning. At 9am they will begin assessment and repair, and have teams coming from out of state to assist. We're hearing estimates of 2-4 days until full restoration is complete.

My only question is where is the rebar?

They were using fiberglass instead of rebar for that extra support.

IIRC once hardened it functions almost identically to rebar reinforced concrete. Which is kind of amazing.

Conventionally-poured concrete allows for whatever odd shapes, addition of reinforcement, and also for placement of pipes and conduits. While this is cool in a very basic sense, it lacks pretty much all of those features.

So, just found out my lab Dell 2950 server wont support Hyper-V 2016 because it doesn't' have SLAT processors:
"Hyper-V in the vNext version of Windows Server will only work on processors with (SLAT) Secondary Level Address Translation which is also known as (EPT) Extended Page Table for Intel processors. If you have older servers with processors that do not support SLAT, you will need to use Windows Server 2012 R2. This version of Hyper-V does not require SLAT support in the processor."
      http://www.nodefinity.net/post/hyper-v-on-poweredge-2900-2950-the-end-of-the-road-is-windows-server-2012-r2

Had the same issue with the ML370 G5's that I got. Luckily with a bios update it will support it but will have to buy new procs, but the heat it puts off for my home is nuts.

I bet it's great during the winter! lol.

Not so much in Dallas 😉

I have switched back and forth from heater to AC in the last few weeks multiple times.
      Texas has turrets.

If you don't like the weather, then wait 5 minutes. It will change.

That's a Rochester NY statement as well.

I think it's a sentiment pretty much everywhere. People who don't travel much think it's just like that where they live. People who do travel hear it all the time, pretty much everywhere they travel (within the US). I haven't come across it much outside the US, though.

It's true. Only LA says the opposite. They make a big deal that they are the opposite.

And Phoenix, and maybe Seattle. There are a few places that are "always the same weather", but everywhere else fits.

I wonder if bubble chain homes will have a surge in popularity as three or four circular bits get attached to one another.

You remember those concrete domes that were basically like paper mache over inflated pillows? There's one out in the Midwest somewhere painted to look like a psychedelic caterpillar, that's like 4 overlapping domes in a chain.

@art_of_shred I looked up this unit a bit more last night, to make a bigger house, you just move the arm using the crane.

It can create the doorways etc and leave them open between wall sections.

Same thing if you wanted a taller house.

Sure. You want an upstairs? Throw that bad boy on a stack of pallets and keep squirting cement!

@stacksofplates this same printer can make a square or any shape needed.

True, but as the arm operates radially, the largest footprint for any length arm will be the full swing of the arm, and not its inscribed square. They already look pretty small.

I've seen proof of concepts with others that look more like dry dock cranes that do larger rectangles really well. But mobility is low, obviously. This one looks like you can put it on a truck and drive it from pad to pad.

Yeah, it's certainly possible. This one looks like the budget "Habitat for Humanity" model.

      Ugh

Even better, it did not help. Now I get to blow out my Outlook profile and start over.

I had to do that on mine (only one computer) this morning. I didn't reinstall; I just created the new profile and set it to always open with that (had to make it in safe mode). We also had 2 client users with Outlook issues this morning.

I tried one last thing first. I opened the mail app in control panel and looked at the account slisted. noticed one for icloud, removed it.
      Outlook opened.

I only had the original Outlook profile; nothing else.

Nope, not a Ford fan, but I have to admit they do build a decent truck.
EDIT: ...that is, with the exception of the bright idea of using aluminum bodies.
