Does anyone have any experience with Open Source Speech to Text? Is it accurate enough to be worth looking into or would it be best to stick with paid solutions like Dragon?

There was a solution I used several years ago for a transcript type of service where the operator wasn't able to type, but needed everything dictated.

Let me see if I can find it.

@IRJ you can get Dragon super cheap if you can wait for a sale. I paid $10 for my copy 🙂

Have you looked at the accessibility tool kit built into Windows? I know it has some speech to text functionality. Not sure how accurate it is though.

We used it when I worked at the local high school. It was 90-99% accurate depending on how well the students could enunciate. Although it still did really well with people who tended to mumble.
