SAP Licence server
-
Anybody familiar with what needs to be done for an SAP license server that changes IPs? DNS was updated but something is wrong with it still.

Man - some of those old crappy services actually were bound to the IP and required being re-licensed when you made a change.

SAP isn't old.

Well, it is current, but has been around for a long time. Like Microsoft is old, but Windows 2016 is current.

Yeah lol. I mean it isn't like an unsupported/not updated thing. It's pretty modern and pricey too.

Yeah, high end, tons of current development. I'm sure lots of people witness old installs of it, of course.

Just because it's currently being updates/supported/developed, doesn't mean they moved away from something like this type of security measure.

Looks like it's not tied to the IP address itself, nowdays but a virtual IP. Which the way we did our rescoping was to add a second NIC so that mapping was lost (if we had just changed it on the primary NIC it would have been fine, but caused other issues). Anyway we can't just add this back because SAP destroys the licence if it detects this changed. We have to wait for a new file from SAP..
