I had to check the web site, lol. it looks like it's ARM. Nvidia Tegra 4. Runs really nicely though.
Yeah, Tegra 4 is a super powerful ARM processor with a lot of GPU power in it too. That's the ARM chip below the Tegra X1 (NVidia Shield) and Tegra K1 (Amazon Fire TV.) So if you assume quad core CPU with big time GPU power, that might do it. Plus RemixOS might easily be tuned for ARM, not AMD64 or those test systems don't have GPU. Could be that simple.

LOl that would be why you couldn't install the x86/AMD64 versions.
My PC is AMD64.
@scottalanmiller was asking specifically about the tablet.

The version that we have is AMD64.

This is what I would expect. Their two primary products (The Ultratablet and the Mini are both ARM chips. The tablet is the NVIDIA Tegra 4, and the Mini is the A53 AllWinner chip (I know nothing about that one)).

I would pay extra for a Mini based on the Tegra X1. I plan to get an X1 device this summer. I have a K1 now and it is pretty powerful. My K1 is 2GB RAM. The X1 I plan to get is 3GB.

They're having a sale on the Remix Minis... If you log in & download their 2.0 beta, you get a $40 off coupon... so you could get the remix for $50 instead of $90... Food for thought!
-
Wow, that is really cheap.

Wait when did they become $90? I paid $69.99

I'm quoting the price straight from their site, not Amazon... so it may still be a good deal on Amazon too.
I did however, install the 2.0 beta on an old Laptop this morning... Sadly, right now, it appears you have to have Windows installed in order to get the Beta to install to HD.
But my laptop booted it up just fine. It doesn't come with Google Play in the PC version, but I found an installer for it... going to try it tonight.
