Yeah, not a cheap thing to do.
-
I've seen vendors do it at a house.

Is it something the vendors could chip in with and help?

I think that MangoCon is winning.
-
Yup I guess MangoConn it is!
-
Just have to make sure the marketing makes sense for the bosses in your lives

It's not a Mangoes in Connecticut thing. Unless we hold it in Connecticut and let me tell you, I'm not attending anything there.
-
Whats the cost of admission? Who are the vendors? Who are the key speakers? Which conference place?
SquishyCon
-
only $250-300 for me to buffalo from NOLA.
-
Has anyone suggested MangoEd?
"I got Mango'Ed!"

Going to Europe is the killer. While it might be a bit less in the winter, summer 2012 cost me $1800 round trip. The hotels were also easily double what I normally pay in the US (or the same if I'm in SF or NYC).
Dominica needs to do some of the planning. For us $270 down to here wasn't a deal, it was splurging. We could have gotten a bit cheaper. I've gone to Europe (one way) for $135. Important things to do are avoid London like the plague, the taxes there alone make a flight really expensive.
I've heard about these fare deals, but they generally only exist from places like NYC or DC or Atlanta, and never include the cost of getting to those cities from elsewhere in the country.
-
Yeah getting a good deal when you are not near a major hub is impossible!
-
Lately I can't seem to get a ticket to a major hub for less than $250 short of some specials on days that rarely work out for me.
-
Yes same here. The only place I can fly for under $250 is NYC 2 hours away (flight time at least).

You're flight time to NYC is 2 hours? How long by car? I can flight to Denver in under 1 hour, 7.5 hours by car.
-
It is about 7 by car for me. But of course that doesn't take into account any traffic

Europe for cheap was from JFK or Logan. So yes. Cheap flights to Central America almost always originate in Houston or Mexico City.
