EU Data Sovereignty Law
-
Free Your Data has started a petition to push the EU to approve the European Data Sovereignty Act which would require any site with more than a million recurring users to provide those users with all of their associated data, free of charge.

Interesting and could be useful. But at the same time it just means this data will be pre-packaged and easier for the NSA, Hackers etc easier to acquire.

I think that it is already packaged. Or else it would be associated.

If it doesn't also include your ability to delete/remove that data fully from that vendors site, why is this useful to an end user?

Furthermore, the NSA has already paid a ton to FB and others for that data, so even if you do delete it, they already have their paid copy.

It's very useful, to know what is being collected. I think that people would be flabbergasted to find out what data is being harvested about them by some large sites. In many cases, things that are explicitly forbidden by privacy statements.
