It's slow as molassas, and when I click the blue link 'go to last read message' it takes me to a page where I can see the top banner, and what sorta looks like my signature line, but no posts.

Yup, so you should celebrate on July 4th, the same day that we do. Even though we didn't become independent that day, we just declared our intention to be.

So you actually became independent on July 4th but celebrate today and the US actually became independent on April 15th but celebrates July 4th.

Other April 15th facts: Abraham Lincoln was pronounced dead that morning after doctors attempted to save his life. We made income taxes due that day. It is my birthday.
