Yes you can. I just did one from five days ago in this thread to test. It says test edit, about one page up from here.

The edit button is missing for me. And now I'm on a machine I've never been to ML on before.... still missing.

What about chat, quote and reply? On mine all four are hidden until you tap on the bar.

I see "chat quote reply flag" but no edit.
FYI, as long as I'm the last one to have posted I can edit the post (like this one now)
