For those using VMWare version 5.5 and earlier, how soon after the release of version 6 do you plan to upgrade all of your production ESXi hosts?

Additionally, will any of the new features v6 brings prompt you to change your vSphere licensing in any way?

If we have software assurance (can't remember if we have it), I'll probably wait until the end of the year when it's quiet.
Otherwise, I will have to put it next years budget (or the year after if things go the way they look)

I cannot seem to find that information anywhere on an exact date.

            Here's a nice feature description for 6 - http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2015/02/03/vsphere-6-0-finally-announced/.

I will probably end up using precisely none of those features, so I'm not sure of any advantages of upgrading other than possibly improved security, stability and performance.

Probably a few weeks after the final release. Need time to plan after it has gone GA.

We have the vSphere 6 update on the schedule, just need to get it GA and get time to do it. Looking forward to moving to it.

VSphere 6 is now available. I thought I would at least mention it since I had not seen any other conversations about it.

Those are the only reasons that I care about. And about keeping the system up to date so that the next round of updates is smooth as well.

Your not waiting for your backup vendor?
