Beware....

Now I'm curious... I generally don't go over to the other forum as much anymore.

Are you not allowed to post links to SW? Not sure why you're being so cagey.
ML site admins have requested that users not post links to SW.
Ahhhhh.... ok. Good to know.
It's fine if they are positive links. There was a run of people linking to non-positive things and no one wanted ML turning into a rant site or something like that which, given much of the audience source, is or was a real risk. In general everyone says "no linking" but it isn't that strict (I do it now and then) and as long as it is like Trevor's "hop over here and help someone out" or other positive link, it's good.
It's not that we don't want links going over there, actually it would be pretty awesome to show up on their radar as a major traffic source.
What IS strict is that no one is allowed to link to ML FROM Spiceworks. That's a ban from their moderators. We don't have the same rule here.

As Scott said I don't mind positive links but we have to be really careful not to be too critical. They also have a strict no posting links to here rule.

"grumblings from the grapevine allude to some shiestyness occurring."
Why no specifics?

They feel that threatened by ML?

Out of common sense and courtesy I have not posted any links to ML, but I didn't realize it was an offense that warranted a ban.

Linked is banned, linked doesn't get you banned.

Cuban cigars were banned in the US, but it was just a fine, you didn't get deported for doing it.
If you link over there they just edit or delete the post.

Ok I just spoke (via PM) with Sean over at Spiceworks. Here are his what he says exactly.
As Per Sean:
"Much like with anything "Partner" related, we do disallow those employed by a company to represent/promote their products and services to do so but we do not stop others who have used someone else's products/services from doing so. But we no more stop someone who has engaged on MangoLassi from posting a link to it than we do stop someone from posting about IT Ninjas or Experts Exchange. For example:
https://community.spiceworks.com/search?query=mangolassi"So you can post links to pertinent information. NO BASHING ANYTHING, ANYONE etc.
