VeraCrypt - A New TrueCrypt Child Emerges

It would seem that CipherShed is not the only decedent of the TrueCrypt code. Check out VeraCrypt.

Awesome - great to hear that support for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 is high on their list with UEFI.

Nice - One of the best things about OpenSource. I have some minor concerns with Opensource... but when I step back a half second,.. I have issues with all software. What is and what isn't safe, what vulnerabilities are in it. Just look at Windows....
Hope it will be cross platform, I used TC in both MS and Linux environments, and it is nice to have the same file accessible in both.

I expect them to do cross platform, huge waste of opportunity if they don't. The TC primary value proposition was that you could run one product everywhere. Each platform has encryption already that is very good but not cross platform.

Which is why I liked TC - (and unrelated KeePass) since they were cross, and available on many distros USB bootable.

Way to go Open Source!
