A Lot of Words
-
I was doing some blog management work this morning. As many of you know, I write rather a lot. MangoLassi is hardly the only venue where I am writing. I got a new plugin that lists how much I have written on my personal blog. I was pretty surprised to find that it is now at 2.8 million words. That's more than four time the length of the King James Bible and 700K words longer than the longer "novel" ever written (which was ten volumes.) That's just that one blog. SMBITJ has another 112K words (it is a very young site by comparison.)
And all of that is before writing in places like MangoLassi and Spiceworks. ML is pretty new so is a drop in the bucket compared to anything else that I have done. But SW I am approaching, and will hit in the next month, the 100,000 post mark. That's not 100K words, that is 100K posts. I have no idea what my average words per post is but it is very likely ten words or more meaning another one million words and easily many more.
Pretty cool. Just wanted to share. I'm guessing my current published writing is somewhere on the 5 million word scale today.

Has anyone ever told you that you talk too much?

I wouldn't know because I would just talk over them.

It's quality not quantity that counts. J. D. Salinger and Harper Lee only wrote one novel each.

And one was awesome and one was awful

@Carnival-Boy And I've only heard of Harper Lee... so.
And well, Kim Kardashian has no "quality" about anything she says or does. However that seems to be what gets posted on facebook the most. I'm starting to think most Amercian's don't know quality or even have a brain. They just do what someone else does.

You better be saying Harper Lee was the awesome one in all that.

Of course. One of my all time favourite books.
Catcher in the Rye was pretty weak.

JD Salinger actually wrote two books, but no one has managed to get the second one.
