Lost Password to Barracuda Backup Device
-
Talking to someone who has just discovered a Barracuda Backup device on their network. The device asked for an email address and a password to access it. We don't have these credentials. We might be able to guess the email, maybe. But the password, definitely not. We have physical access to the device. Anyone aware of a way to reset access but retain access to the backups?
I assume that there is no way to do this for obvious security reasons, but just wanted to see since they have known hard coded passwords there might be a way.

Not having had exposure to these in the past - do they have a Console port? My guess is, likely not. Can you do a hard reset? not the best option... might lose information you don't have record of anywhere else.
Does anyone on-site know the person or persons who set this up?

Never fear. They have a back door to it

I am pretty sure that they have a reset method.

If it has console, you typically have a way in.

I just had discovered on a recent audit a Barracuda Backup device, but I was able to get the account login for the cloud and local account. I used the email of the previous IT person and the administrator password.
If you don't know the account or password at this point is better to reset and start over or contact Barracuda Technical Support...
