Mobile Device Management

I am looking for recommendations on an MDM solution. I have given Cisco Meraki a trial run but hated it. The VMware account exec for my area isn't interested in my business for AirWatch. I've looked a bit into Microsoft's InTune and Maas360.
Our goal is to be able to wipe or containerize any of our data/apps from the employees' BYOD. Our company does not supply cell phones or tablets. If a user wants to sync their iPhone with our Exchange then they will sign a policy understanding that we will be monitoring and consent to us removing info upon their departure.
What have you all used that you like and recommend. Thanks!

Are you using Office365?

Not at the moment but we are looking very heavily at transitioning in the next few months. This is just for the Click-to-Run Office. We're leaving Exchange on-prem.

Have you looked at the features of Exchange ActiveSync? It's not a full MDM by any stretch of the imagination but it will do device wipe and lock.

I have but in cases of immediate termination we already have their accounts disabled so don't think the phone and our server are able to communicate with each other. Plus if they are backing up their phones then they can restore from the previous backup and be right back to where they were.

They'd get around any MDM in those cases.
