    • RE: Exchange 2010 Hard Drive Space Issues

Windows Backup should be able to truncate the Exchange logs.

    • RE: Concur for Expense Reporting - Experiences and/or Suggested Alternatives?

For the past 1.5 years we have been using Concur. We were in the same situation as you prior to that with a spreadsheet template. As far as I know there have been no issues. Just a few things when it was first setup. Our CFO and controller love being on Concur now. They are able to "poke" managers when expense reports have been sitting out there without approval.

Just open Windows Explorer and look at your log directory. If you are not using an Exchange aware backup program then your logs are not getting purged.

If a large number of logs are the problem then you can manually delete them if the database is clean.

      1. Dismount the database
      2. Run the command eseutil /MH "<databasename>.edb"
      3. If the state shows the database as Clean Shutdown you are good to delete the log files.

Feel free to hit me up if you need any help on this.

This is what I have to prevent my clients from communicating to Microsoft Update servers:

    • RE: Docking Station Recommendations for Dell Latitude 7490

We have both the Dell USB-C docks and a couple of the Thunderbolt models. So far we have had no problem with the USB-C. I even use one for my machine. The Thunderbolts were a bit problematic around the first part of 2017, but after several firmware updates they seem to have stabilized.

@scottalanmiller, which service did you go with after dropping MailGun? We are looking at a relay service and have MailGun on our list. This is a bit concerning that they shut you down like that. We're also looking at Postmark and SendGrid.

    • RE: Obtaining hardware from terminated remote employee

We have our employees (office-based and home-based) sign a company equipment agreement upon their hire. It states along the lines that they agree to care for all company equipment they are issued and return in proper working condition upon termination of employment. Failure to do so will be considered theft and lead to criminal prosecution. On the employee's last day they are informed that any vacation accrual they have will be held for payout until the equipment is returned. This usually does the trick for us. I've only had to threaten police action with a former employee once before the laptop magically showed up a couple of days later.

    • RE: 3rd party spam filter solution pricing

We have been using SpamTitan and their hosted appliance for several years with our on-prem Exchange. Pricing is $1/u/month. Been happy with it.

    • RE: Mobile Device Management

I have but in cases of immediate termination we already have their accounts disabled so don't think the phone and our server are able to communicate with each other. Plus if they are backing up their phones then they can restore from the previous backup and be right back to where they were.

Not at the moment but we are looking very heavily at transitioning in the next few months. This is just for the Click-to-Run Office. We're leaving Exchange on-prem.
