Softphones
-
Is there a good option out there? Any that we have tried a few but all have lag issues, not just for me but for everyone that uses them. We have tried Zoiper, Xlite, Lin Phone. Any other suggestions. It doesn't necessarily need to be free.
-
@Minion-Queen I have never used one I really like on my desktop. The Linphone app on my iPhone works well though.
-
Those are the basic ones. Lag would almost certainly not be related to the soft phone, that would come from the system or network.
-
a codec also influence the RTP traffic, how much is your bandwidth ??
-
Lync's a good softphone (when connected to a quality Lync server deployment).
The Cisco IP Communicator's decent, though the interface tries to emulate a phone's appearance. I've had good luck with it using skinny, but haven't tried SIP.

37.7/5.25that's a good bandwidth, are you using this connection for data also or that is for voip only??
-
that is everything. I work from a home office so it is just residential service.
And that is actually a bad day for us here we usually have more like 43 ping 58/6

Data and voice. G.722 for voice.
-
what solution are you using for IP PBX ???
-
@IT-ADMIN We've been using Elastix for a while, but we will be shifting over to freepbx soon.
-
-
Not elastix it's self. We deploy Elastix constantly for customers. They just wanted to play with FreePBX
-
do you have it on premise, or hosted ???

Well we are an Elastix / FreePBX hosted VoIP company. So kinda both. It's hosted. But hosted by us.
