2010 Team Mailbox

I'm fishing for some opinions here on what people have done in the past to resolve a request wherein a team wants a single mailbox to be accessible by that team so they can pick items out and handle them? I know it sounds a lot like a ticketing system. I'm not looking for best practice (though I'm not averse to hearing about it), and really just want to rethink 'the old way' to see if there's something more efficient. Any concepts or previous experiences that people are willing to share?
We're curently using O365 groups for this. Not for ticket tracking, but juts keeping track of emails that come in to a particular team.

I wish we had that. It would be so much easier. We're on 2010 on prem so it makes things a little more difficult.

You can make a mailbox and give the team permissions to it. It shows as a separate mailbox in their outlook.
You could also make a mailbox, then have that mailbox forwarded to a distribution group containing team members if you dont want people to have more than 1 mailbox in their outlook.
Recently i made a mailbox for sales leads; emails are generated to this mailbox when people visit our website.
I forwarded this mailbox' items to the Sales channel on our Slack service for easier access for that group. -

I was hoping there was a better way. I hate using CALs for this purpose.

@Grey I don't believe a shared mailbox uses a CAL, since everyone (or device) connecting to it is already licensed.

Are you sure? I thought the licensing model in 2010 was based on mailboxes?

Exchange 2010 was either per user CALS or per device CALS... no restrictions on mailboxes.

I guess my information is out of date!

The dashboard on the front of Exchange shows things based upon mailboxes, but it's just wrong. As is typical for MS licensing views.

I would recommend a shared mailbox which can be used by licensed users.
