I don't want to sound surprised, so meh.

For profit vs non profit, yet there is still enough money left over in the charges for municipality ISP to pay for other city services, according to the article.

That is an update to commenters questions, not an official part of the article. Although it would be interesting to see that information (if it exists in the data set)

In a surprise twist AT&T calls on lawmakers to draft and pass an Internet Bill of Rights for Consumers.
-
They are going to write the law to benefit themselves, get it sponsored by shitbags in the House and Senate, it passes, everybody loses except ATT CMCSA VZW.
Most laws passed by congress are now written by lawyers from corporations or lobbyist and then sponsored by congresspeople. -
Now I wonder why they would, my guess is they are realizing they might end up paying way more to offer their services which will hurt their customers and thus them in turn...

It's good news. I'm hoping that the FCC doesn't preempt these Executive orders though.

They already attempted to in their repeal order. 22 or 23 states are suing the FCC over their repeal, so this will go to court as well.

Yep, I knew about the lawsuit to force the FCC to bring the rules back. Will be interesting to see what happens in the next year or two.

Ha before a suit can be officially created the FCC has to post the file bill for the removal of NN rules. Which I don't think has happened yet.

I just don't see that happening. At best the part about states not being able to have their own rules might be overturned though.

The FCC losing a lawsuit that would require them to reinstate Net Neutrality. It's their playground as I understand it, they, the FCC, have this power granted to them by Congress. Assuming some other law (that I haven't heard about yet) trumps their power to make this change, I don't see that happening.
No to get real change here we need either Congress to pass laws, or a new head of the FCC to push through new changes (but then again, we'd be just remaining where we are now, on a tetter totter of who's in office as to what the rules will be).
