I wonder if they have any sort of integrated data security (besides what is built into linux) and guides for data protection that small offices might follow.

      Interesting find @mlnews.

I found this from the openSuse news feed this morning. There was a donation of Raspberry Pi units made to help poor hospitals run this.

This would be a boon to small rural hospitals and clinics. EMRs are pretty expensive.

Hospitals pay a lot for EMR isn't the same as EMRs being expensive 😉

I think that's the first application I've seen that was built on Tryton.

Sucks that it doesn't look like it's a web interface.

This is probably what it exists for.

It's been around a long time. It's similar to Access or the LibreOffice database app. A RAD tool for database applications.

Ever played with it? Their website is... lacking.

Ya. That's why I think it's the first thing I've seen built on it. It's ok but I don't know if I would trust it for critical data. I don't think there are many Tryton experts out there.

It's in the Ubuntu software center if you want to look at it.

I feel confident that there are not 🙂

Ah I just looked at the Tryton demo. It looks like they have a web version now. Last time I looked at it was around 2012.

@scottalanmiller Well, not as many experts as for SAP, but you find some 🙂
Tryton is a fork of openERP (nowadays called odoo) and runs for itself as ERP in many companies around the world. Their website is a PITA, agree. A Web-Frontend is available as well.
@stacksofplates Lots has happened since 2012....

Oh, good info. That makes it make a lot more sense. Thanks.
