ZDNet has an article on the Eleven Reasons Why the Raspberry Pi is the Perfect Small Server.

Not the best list of reasons. Obviously low cost and low power draw make tons of sense. That it can double as your video player is... ridiculous at best.

Have you ever considered deploying a Raspberry Pi as the central server in your environment?

I've used it at scrolling digital marketing before. Serves it's purpose pretty well. I also had one set up as a print server.

There are things the rPi can do,... and a load of things it can not. While sometimes I have grand visions being able to do things it cannot,.. there are a number of things it does decently. KODI media runs decently on it, and streams YouTube videos decently,.. I actually have it connected to the music library on the NAS...

I have plans to build a small NAS / Print server on the rPi just to toy with it,.. but then have a NAS which I could send to my dad for light use. The Radio Club will do Field Day in June, and with the wifi network I'm building it would be nice to have a central point for the logging program to connect to the Database... This way they don't have to merge them after the fact..

Other projects I have done don't fall into the 'server' mantra...

            Status lights

Someone hasn't experienced the glory of the blinkenlights I see.

Ah, I see the article is from 2014.
