Linode and Vultr Current Pricing Q1 2017
-
With current offerings, features and pricing these two provides are the big two that I am currently interested in for the majority of cloud work that I do. There are lots of good players out there, but these two have what we are really looking for nearly all of the time and, honestly, I'm happy to whittle the field down a bit. Digital Ocean was great but unless they revamp their pricing, they just don't have a compelling offering today.
Linode Vultr 1v / 512MB -- $2.50 1v / 1GB $5 $5 1v / 2GB $10 $10 2v / 4GB $20 $20 4v / 8GB $40 $40 6v / 12GB $80 -- 6v / 16GB -- $80 Hope that this is handy. All of these are pure SSD VMs, both are KVM based. We find higher IOPS and CPU performance with the same specs on Linode, but Vultr does very well. Vultr clearly has a huge advantage with their $2.50 offering and in the higher memory space offerings.

Yes, and even more expectation that you will use it. They have to have an API to be considered a cloud host. Linode is the most "technical" of the three. Vultr and DO have leaned more towards VPS and Linode more towards cloud, but all three fully cover both avenues, unlike Azure.

Vultr has a much superior (IMHO) web interface. Linode's is not at all on par.
