Wireless AP Monitoring + Diagnostics

We have 75 AP's being managed through Aruba. They charge a lot for their 'service'. It seems like they just provide the updates? I'm not really sure what we are a paying for considering all of the diagnostics are in Ubiquiti's software. Are any of you paying companies to manage your wireless?

Well, my clients pay us to handle it. But that is like an hour or so every couple months for pushing out updates.

Do you serve as their IT or do they have their own staff? It seems weird to me. I've always managed the wireless and its a lot of money.

We are their entire IT staff, so yeah. Just part of being IT for the company.

That makes sense to me. Paying a full time staff and then an external company together doesn't. I unfortunately have to pay the renewal because there is no way I can migrate by Saturday and they just made me aware of it. I've had 4 major contract renewals since I started a month ago. Crazy.

Why renew? Do they take away functionality if you do? I do not have any Aruba experience.
Just let them run without changes while you migrate

It most likely would just stop applying security updates but the scope of the project is huge. I'm a one man shop in the middle of completely reconfiguring an EMR in addition to a lot of other major projects. Every non-poe switch we have is a 10/100 HP Procurve 2610 as an example. There is not a single label in any of my network closets currently. I have to upgrade every single PC etc. I have a lot of crap I have to work on and it would all go to the wayside if I started this.
This place needs a lot.

Yeah, then priorities. Either contract some help or pay the renew for a year and plan to do something next year.

I don't. I don't pay them to manage my switches either.
