My up to date Fedora 30 desktop
Interesting - so F 30 can't get it? at least not through normal updates... is that common?

Yes.

I personally can’t wait for them. I live 24 hours by car from either coast. I live 10 hours by car from my mom. It would be awesome to hope in the car after work Friday and just let the car drive all night while I sleep.

I think they have their place but real world usability is a while away.
They can't content with kangaroos yet: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-40416606
Admittedly, that's 2 years ago but I haven't seen any updates on the matter. -

I think that they are one of the most important things in the coming decades. Few things are as costly and dangerous as drivers.

I do understand and agree with this - I think the biggest hurdle will be getting people to 'give up' this privilege that so many call a right. Plus a self driving mode over ride when outside of a population center should be an option - think country driving.
Cars like those in Demolition Man are what I envision - the steering wheel can shrink and recess into the dash some to be out of the way when in auto drive mode, etc.

SO cold here we actually kicked on the heat this morning. We hit 31F last night.

We've been under 32 for 4 days... been under 37 for 10+ days. -

I have no problem whatsoever giving up driving.
