So they are simply trying to ascertain the child's needs through a parent who is only an emergency contact..
Seems like a waste of money to me. . .
Well they know i am the Father, if that means anything at all i dont know

@wrcombs Does the teacher walk around the house, or do they simply come over and sit on the couch and talk?
If it's anything more than a sit down and talk, then it is a CPS assessment of your home, and the housing conditions for the child.
Even if you don't know about it.
They come in, Sit down , talk ( usually about goals and such) then they leave. I offered to show them around the first time and they said it wasn't what they were there for.
Put yourself in the teacher's position. Typically this is a young, somewhat attractive female. They also have to be concerned about their safety and security as well. Therefore, probably wouldn't want to be lead to the backroom to be forced to do who knows what to them.
There is always at least 2 of them if not more. but i could understand that
Yes, in reality, it is you that are in danger. Probably not even a record of them going there since you aren't even officially the correct person or address.

none taken man, all good!

I guess the question is why aren't they speaking with the kids mother (or primary care taker and residence operator) rather than you?
It seems like an attempt to milk you for your money for your ex. . . . (wooh he just bought this. . . Take him to court to get more money)
(cynical me)

Leave a broken down motor in parts on the living room floor, making a massive mess of the house and see how it changes their tune. . . /sarcasim-off
hahah right? But heres the thing, they've only came to my house and im not even on the account there other than as an emergency contact and Parent pick up.. So basically them coming to my current home shouldnt be happening because they havent even seen my exes house. not once.
How do they get to come there then? Why do you let them in? Call the cops.
I just found out last week that I am not on the Account other than parent pick up and emergency contact, after I already set up the Home visit with them so my son could stay a "student" at their school. after this, they know to contact her or stop her when shes picking him up and tell her.
-
@WrCombs I'm assuming you're paying child support etc.
Which is why I say it like that. Why investigate you / your residence rather than the residence that the kid lives at, and with the people that they stay with constantly. Besides as a means to assess your ability to pay more. .

Because my ex wasnt answering her phone. She said it was my thing since i have weekdays off most times. But after today they have to go through her for all of that or she needs to add me as primary care giver on the account

@dustinb3403 I do pay child support - way to damn much in child support actually.

So she doesn't do what is required and they don't care, but if you don't do what isn't required, they take action? Seriously, this is when lawyers step in. I'd be all over them for discrimination in a flash. They have legal responsibilities that they are shirking and are taking advantage of their position to basically threaten you.

I was the only parent they saw at the time that week. She doesnt do what is required and they tell me about it basically. yeah, its great. I get to deal with all of the adult stuff basically because she wont.

I have to agree with @scottalanmiller here, if she isn't answering her phone that could be considered abandonment of the child. So why aren't they calling CPS on her, and bringing the child to the responsible parent who is answering the phone?
"Because she wasn't answering her phone" doesn't mean you kidnapped her, and have her locked up in your basement. So why "stop-in" and see what's up?!

And? Who they "see" doesn't determine the law. They can't have it both ways. If that logic was legal, you'd be sole guardian instantly as the only parent that they saw.

So then document all of it, bring it to your lawyer and fight the custody battle. If you are the responsible adult, you should have the kid, and get paid child support etc.

They shouldn't even be telling you. That they don't do what they are required to do isn't your problem.

And, more importantly, the STATE has recognized you as the sole parent and has recognized that she has abandoned the child. The STATE has! The school, is a state agency, so that carries a LOT of weight. Right or wrong, the state has made one whopping statement there.
